Job Responsibilities:The Senior Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of construction projects, emphasizing the design phase to ensure alignment with project specifications and stakeholder expectations. This role manages projects from submittal development through design, fabrication, production, shipment, field installation/commissioning, and warranty period completion. Successful delivery is measured by adherence to schedule, scope, cost, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Job Duties:

Design Assistance and Coordination:

Leads the development of project during the design assist phase working closely with the business development team to develop submittals for review/approval by third-party engineers, integrating project specifications, drawings, and construction standards.

Reviews and controls project plans, ensuring design specifications align with project goals and recommending changes to improve delivery.

Collaborates with design engineering teams to translate design intent into production documentation and field installation requirements.

Project Management:

Develops and assembles project schedules, outlining responsibilities at each phase: engineering (submittal development, fabrication, and production documentation), factory production, delivery, field installation support, start-up and commissioning, and warranty period.

Monitors project progress, coordinates activities, and resolves issues to maintain the project schedule.

Establishes key personnel responsibilities at each project phase to manage accountability.

Performs buy-out of key external cost items (equipment, major sub-contracts) to set project budget, including soliciting and analyzing cost proposals to support selection recommendations.

Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information for internal and external use.

Maintains accurate records of all project-related communications (external and internal) as the primary point of contact for the company.

Stakeholder Management:

Establishes and maintains professional relationships with customers, ensuring constant communication and accurate status reporting.

Communicates on behalf of the company with customers, stakeholders, and their representatives, including building owners, construction managers, sub-contractors, product/equipment manufacturers, and field support staff.

Represents the company at regular project meetings to discuss scope, schedule, performance, and close-out with external stakeholders.

Manages change orders during production and field installation, recommending solutions, facilitating cost estimates, and negotiating contract changes.

Quality and Performance Management:

Ensures quality standards are maintained throughout the production phase by coordinating with internal quality control personnel.

Investigates concerns, implements corrective actions, and communicates with customers and staff to maintain client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Performs site visits to active projects at key milestones (delivery, rigging/installation, commissioning, turn-over/training, etc.).

Project Closure and Warranty:

Schedules start-up and commissioning activities to support the customer’s project timeline.

Obtains project acceptance and timely sign-off by the customer.

Manages the successful transition into the warranty period, including issuing warranty letters and acting as the primary point of contact through warranty completion.

Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and/or

10-12yrs of Construction Management, or Design Engineering experience with a strong understanding of systems and the execution of the same for the entire life cycle of the project

Experience managing multiple concurrent relevant projects with construction values between $5 – 35 million

Field Experience desired

Experience dealing with all the project stakeholders from the owner down to the field crews a plus

Job Qualifications:

Proficiency in MS Project software suite (Word, Excel, etc.)

Working knowledge and fluency with current VDC platforms such as Revit, SolidWorks

Ability to work remotely and independently

Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team (sales, design engineering, factory production, field installation)

Demonstrated analysis, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proven project management skills, with the ability to visualize, plan, orchestrate, and execute multiple projects concurrently to meet goals (time, scope, and budget)

Capability to handle a dynamic, evolving, and demanding workload

Experience with project financial budgeting, planning, and administration

Experience with conflict resolution and negotiations

Ability to manage key relationships with stakeholders, including customers and sub-contractors

Ability to diplomatically interface with individuals (both internal and external) at various organizational levels

Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends as required

Some overnight travel required (approx. 25-50%)
