Democracy International (DI) is seeking to hire a full-time

Global Security and Field Operations Assistant.

As a member of the Global Security and Field Operations Team, this role will be based in DI’s home office in Bethesda, Maryland.

We will only consider applicants who are based in the DMV area and willing to work a hybrid in-office/remote schedule.

This position will provide support to DI Headquarters and DI’s global field offices by contributing to guidance and materials, providing direction to the Program Management Team (PMT) and global field offices on best practices, and refining DI’s security and field operations systems and procedures to ensure the highest quality standards. They will also contribute to project startup and closeout activities, including but not limited to: coordinating with PMT on company registration, banking, lease agreements, and legal services, as well as facilitating trainings with global field offices.

Contribute to the continual improvement of standard operating procedures in global field offices.Design and assist with global security and field operations training and guidance materials, such as process maps, presentations, and manuals.Provide administrative support such as taking minutes, copyediting, coordinating and scheduling meetings and trainings, updating internal trackers, and organizing files.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field desired;1-2 years of work experience and interest in administration, operations, or security field;Professional or academic experience in international setting desired;Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks;Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with all staff;Ability to travel internationally 20% of the time;

The starting salary range for this position is $43,000 - $52,000 - commensurate with experience.
