October 31, 2024The OpportunityThis three-year rotational program will provide entry-level candidates with invaluable, hands-on experience across TC Energy's US Natural Gas Commercial organization. Participants will complete up to three rotational assignments within five key groups: Business Development, Commercial Operations, Marketing, Rates & Regulatory, and Strategy & Business Planning.This comprehensive approach is tailored to set program participants up for success in their future careers at TC Energy. In addition to the rotational assignments, participants may also have the chance to engage in formal and informal training, such as site visits, job shadowing, and attendance at external seminars and conferences.What you’ll doRotational assignments for the Commercial Business Analyst will provide opportunities to contribute to various functions, including:Business DevelopmentIdentify, develop, and execute new natural gas infrastructure projects to drive long-term, sustainable growth and achieve attractive returnsConduct market research and analysis to stay informed on industry trends that could enhance TC Energy's strategic positionRecommend strategic approaches to capitalize on growth opportunities, aligned with the organization's long-term goalsCommercial OperationsPlan and design pipeline system operations to ensure capacity availability meets customer demandDevelop, evaluate, and execute commercial transactions that provide customers with competitive, reliable, and efficient natural gas transportation and storage servicesCollaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement innovative solutions that address customer needs and enhance the overall customer experienceMarketingMaintain and grow TC Energy's existing natural gas transmission and storage customer base and associated revenuesDesign, develop, and implement creative commercial solutions to address day-to-day and broader customer issuesIdentify new growth opportunities to further expand the organization's revenue streams and market shareRates & RegulatoryProvide guidance and ensure compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations governing natural gas pipeline and storage operationsSupport the preparation and submission of rate cases, tariff filings, and other regulatory applications to achieve timely and favorable approvals from FERCCollaborate with internal stakeholders to assess the impact of evolving FERC policies and develop appropriate regulatory strategiesStrategy & Business PlanningDevelop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive the company’s long-term growth, competitiveness, and overall organizational effectivenessProvide strategic analysis, business planning support, and performance monitoring to senior leadership across the US Natural Gas businessMinimum QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in energy, business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related disciplineDisplays a genuine passion for the natural gas industry and a desire to be an "energy problem solver"Highly motivated to learn and contribute to the success of a large, commercially oriented organizationExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate creativity and innovative, outside-the-box thinking to tackle complex energy industry challengesDemonstrates personal alignment with TC Energy's core values of Safety, Responsibility, Collaboration, Integrity, and InnovationRelevant educational or industry experience will be highly regarded, including:Internships or co-op programs in the energy sectorHands-on experience with natural gas or energy commercial activities, fundamentals, or regulatory affairs/policyCoursework or research focused on energy economics, finance, markets, policy, or technologyPreferred QualificationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAdaptability and willingness to learn new skillsAttention to detail and data-driven decision makingEffective time management and multitasking capabilitiesDesire to continuously improve and seek out new challengesEffective interpersonal and relationship-building skillsTo remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.About our businessTC Energy is a leading energy infrastructure company in North America.
