Nestled in the vibrant culinary scene of Charleston, Costa offers a sophisticated dining experience with a focus on Mediterranean-inspired dishes and a carefully curated wine program.Job Description:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager with a passion for hospitality and a strong background in restaurant management. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring seamless service delivery, and exceptional guest experiences. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing our wine program, managing inventory, and training staff.Responsibilities:Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.Train, mentor, and manage front-of-house staff to deliver high-quality service and uphold Costa's service standards, including staff training on wine knowledge and service.Assist in the management of the wine program, including inventory control, staff education, and wine service.Collaborate closely with the kitchen and service teams to ensure coordinated and timely food and beverage service.Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting dining environment, adhering to health and safety standards.Develop and manage staff schedules, ensuring optimal labor cost management in line with budgetary goals.Handle guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally, ensuring positive resolutions.Oversee daily financial operations, including cash and card transactions, and ensure accurate balancing of cash drawers.Support the General Manager in achieving the restaurant's financial and operational goals.Participate in community and promotional events to enhance the restaurant's visibility and reputation.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role within a high-end restaurant environment.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.Extensive knowledge of wine and wine service techniques.Proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences.Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.TIPS or similar certification is preferred.Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.Health insurance and other benefits package.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.A dynamic and collaborative work environment in the heart of Charleston's culinary scene.If you are a passionate hospitality professional with a keen interest in wine and a proven track record in restaurant management, we invite you to join our team at Costa Charleston.
