Medical Office Specialist - Durant - Texoma Heart Group

performs administrative tasks using specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures.Greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner.Checks schedules and organizes patient flow; accompanies patients to exam/procedure room; assists patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.; collects patient history; performs screenings per provider guidelines.Assists physicians/nurses with various procedures and charting.Relays instructions to patients/families; answers calls and provides pertinent information.Sends/receives patient medical records; obtains lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completes forms/requisitions as needed; schedules appointments.Verifies insurance coverage and patient demographics; manages charts to ensure information is completed and accurate.Sets up instruments and equipment according to department protocol; restocks exam/procedure rooms.As a
