Responsible for carrying out strategic procurement activities, including gathering, analyzing and presenting data related to pricing and lead times with the goal of reducing costs and improving delivery times to support procurement and operations goals. Collaborates with department leaders, Estimating and Project team members to define and execute the procurement of critical project material and establish relationships with subcontractors. Follows, improves, and maintains processes and systems utilized by the company to perform procurement related tasks and functions.Responsibilities

Solicit bids, analyze quotes, interpret proposals, and interview prospective suppliersMake recommendations regarding the best suppliers to partner with and initiate prequalification effortsReview spend trends and analyze based on business requirements and projections for market competitiveness of assigned commoditiesEstablish and maintain supplier relationships while allowing for market competitiveness and leverage those relationships to stay aware of trends and best practicesAssess and categorize suppliers to determine strategic, leveraged, bottleneck, and non-critical supplier management strategies while interpreting and presenting the data collected to the Strategic Sourcing Manager along with suggestions for improvementSupport the implementation of industry best practices and a mindset of continuous improvementSupport the Strategic Sourcing Manager with process inputs and data analysisReview, analyze, and monitor assigned supplier/subcontractor capabilities, quotes, and bidsResearch and configure procurement data in support of department and company Key Performance Indicator (KPI)'sFacilitate the timely resolution of issues with suppliers related to price, quality, delivery, condition, etc.Coordinate with buyers for each project and give direction related to previously negotiated materials and equipment contractsCoordinate keepsake inventory and life cycles for bulk purchases to ensure that the company is maintaining an adequate inventoryDevelop and maintain expertise on assigned products and servicesMaintain and communicate knowledge of market conditions and industry activity that may impact business and escalate concerns to Strategic Sourcing Manager as appropriateWork collaboratively with other procurement personnel inside the MasTec family of companies when applicable to increase and improve purchasing leverageResearch and evaluate new sources for assigned products and services with a goal of increasing department efficiencyOther duties as assignedQualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Construction Management, Engineering or BusinessThree to five years related experience; experience within engineering or construction industries preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company's Zero Injury principlesAbility to lead and mentor othersKnowledge of construction contract development, negotiation, and deploymentStrong data analysis and advanced problem-solving skillsAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite, especially ExcelAbility to leverage industry specific software and data mining from ERP softwareAbility to read and interpret engineering and technical documentsAdvanced understanding of terms, nomenclature and business models used in the construction industryAbility to be accurate, precise and follow set procedures and standardsExcellent collaboration and written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interact professionally with all levels within the organization and with clients, subcontractors, and suppliersWorking Environment:When visiting jobsites the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautionsThis work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.What's in it for you:
