team to help us unleash the potential of every business.About The RoleWe are seeking a Senior Development Manager for the Data Platform Engineering team with the drive and expertise to design and build large scale complex applications for our cloud data platform. This role involves building high-traffic, data-intensive applications that are crucial for our daily operations. You'll be an integral part of the Data Platform team and you will take the helm in developing large-scale systems on AWS, Databricks, Tableau, Web Focus, Airflow, and Snowflake utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to deliver secure and scalable solutions.You'll set the best engineering practices and build repeatable patterns and pipelines for our engineering teams. You are well versed with configuration management tools to ensure the robustness and efficiency of our services. You will be in the thick of problem-solving challenges, drawing from your extensive experience to maintain the high availability of our systems and ensure our infrastructure's security and compliance. Your expertise will define how we create a world-class cloud data platform that will lay the foundation for advanced data use cases.About The TeamThe Worldpay Cloud Data Platform team provides WorldPay big data capabilities including large scale data processing, analytics, fraud platforms, machine learning engineering, stream processing, and data insights. The team helps maintain and advance cloud data platforms and services to build data products powering our business services and customers.What You'll OwnLeadershipLead and mentor a team of platform engineers with expertise in AWS, Databricks, Tableau, Web Focus, Airflow.Automate operation, installation, and monitoring of the data visualization platform components in our infrastructure stack in cloud and in on-premises data centers.Manage and resolve critical support issues with a high degree of technical complexity.Measure and monitor service and support performance and health (SLAs, KPIs, etc.).Plan and implement upgrades of tools and design system enhancements with emerging features.Collaborate with the engineering team on technical strategies, design patterns, and practices relevant to the optimization and continuous improvement of the BI platform within the organization.Design, optimize, document, and implement the operational aspects for administering various BI tools within the WP data platform ecosystem.Develop and maintain operational runbooks and training curriculum for the support team.Provide enterprise-wide data visualization technical oversight and mentorship for geographically dispersed colleagues and contracted team members.Implement release management, governance, cost monitoring, user security auditing, and performance optimizations to improve customer experience and system reliability.Apply emerging and traditional technologies for analytics improvements in support of enterprise analytics platform strategy.Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support career development of team members.Platform and TechnologyLead the development of standard platforms that provide various data technology capabilities (Integrations, Data Persistence, Data Computation, Orchestration, Analytics, AIML, Governance).Develop cost-effective, scalable, and future-proofing infrastructure solutions based on the requirements for product services that cover both functional and non-functional requirements.Manage the operating model for the platform teams to onboard, build, and support the rollout of products.Ensure the design and architecture of the data platform meet industry best practices and standards.EnablementEngage various technology and product stakeholders and work from business objectives to a solution design based on their unique product requirements.Design architectures, functional solutions, and implementation-ready approaches for various products and key initiatives to accelerate the build of solutions.Create architecture specifications and other design artifacts representing the approach and effect of new proposed solutions.Facilitate technical and business sessions required to align solution architecture with business and technology objectives throughout the development life cycle.Provide implementation guidance to a variety of products and key Data initiatives throughout the product development life cycle.Work with several project teams to help align, implement, and accelerate the development. Manage POCs, design updates, product changes, project escalations.ExpertiseSubject matter expert in Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Persistence & Data Analytics platforms and well-architected patterns.Define appropriate architecture principles and standards, patterns, blueprints, best practices, and frameworks in Data Architecture to support product development across the organization.Support the design patterns for building Data Models, Metadata layers leveraging Snowflake data warehouse platform.Support the build of data technology capabilities and the migration of analytics artifacts from legacy solutions to modern platforms.What You BringBachelor's in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience - post-graduate education desired.Ten+ years of Big-Data experience including building data platforms in cloud, preferably using AWS, Snowflake, Kafka, Databricks, Airflow, and equivalent services.Leadership skills with experience in driving large projects and implementing applications in a shared services environment.Experience with implementing and maintaining high availability production systems.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical individuals as needed.Experience with BI platforms like Tableau, WebFocus, ThoughtSpot, PowerBI, or similar tools.Strong Windows and/or Linux system administration experience.Experience working with SQL and cloud-based relational databases such as Snowflake.Experience with authentication and authorization systems like LDAP, Kerberos, AD, and IAM.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.Experience debugging networking issues such as DNS resolutions, proxy settings, security groups.Experience with developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations, and alerts.Knowledge of security controls for the public cloud (encryption of data in motion/rest and key management).Strong development skills in Python or other scripting languages.Experience with large-scale Transformation Programs and Fortune 500 companies.Experience with cloud transformations and cloud migrations.Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model-driven design-based tools and techniques.Experience with data modeling, building data schemas (normalized, flat, star, snowflake, etc.).Expertise with end-to-end systems development life cycles and a background leading large projects.Experience designing and implementing applications in a shared service environment.Worldpay Perks - What We'll Bring For YouWe know it's bigger than just your career.
