The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer relationship management, project management, and experience with infrastructure, network security, and network and voice services.

Job Summary:

The Technical Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and finalization of IT projects within defined timelines and budgets. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders and end users to ensure their needs and input are incorporated into project outcomes. The Technical Project Manager will track and report on project progress, manage security audit findings, and ensure that all IT initiatives align with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:

Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.

Lead project tasks, allocate resources, and coordinate with State personnel and vendors to deliver IT projects.

Use project management tools, reports, templates, and methodologies to guide IT project teams through execution phases.

Ensure project milestones are met on schedule and within budget.

Stakeholder Consultation & Collaboration:

Collaborate with agency executive management, division directors, and IT staff to gather requirements and align project objectives with business needs.

Regularly communicate with stakeholders and project teams, providing updates on security audit findings and remediation progress.

Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring project requirements are clearly understood and met.

Project Monitoring & Reporting:

Track and report on project status, audit findings, risk management, and remediation efforts to key stakeholders.

Proactively manage project scope, cost, and schedule changes, ensuring timely and effective communication with stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with the State’s project management policies and standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk, Quality, and Change Management:

Apply project management best practices, including risk management, quality assurance, change control, and communication strategies.

Lead the development and execution of change strategies, including stakeholder analysis, communication plans, and adoption plans.

Leadership & Team Management:

Provide leadership, guidance, and support to cross-functional project teams.

Train, mentor, and coach IT project team members, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.

Proactively escalate critical issues and work with stakeholders for immediate resolution.

Compliance & Standards:

Ensure agency and project compliance with State project management standards, policies, and procedures.

Support cross-functional teams and promote collaboration to meet project goals and ensure successful delivery.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.

PMP, PRINCE2, or other project management certification preferred.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on IT projects.

Experience managing security audits, IT infrastructure projects, or large-scale system implementations.

Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.

Skills:

Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Monday.com).

Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Expertise in risk management, change management, and quality control processes.

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
