Melbourne, FL.The Mission Management Equipment Engineer in this role must possess in-depth knowledge of computers and electronics for mission processing and data storage and experience in the definition, design, integration, test, and certification of related hardware and software requirements and will be responsible for one or more of the following:Interpret, allocate, tailor, write and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architectureDesign and develop computer and network architectures, perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysisTrade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offeringsDocument designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specificationsCollaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission management subsystems to meet platform mission objectivesTechnical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test supportDeveloping supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of workBuilding supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selectionReview documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviewsA successful Communications Engineer has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.Basic Qualifications:Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.Must have an active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years).Ability to obtain Top Secret clearanceDemonstrated experience in Ethernet-based networking design, to include IP address planning, switching, and routingWorking knowledge of cyber security and Risk Managed Framework (RMF), STIGs and associated elementsExperience with integration of COTS electronics into military systemsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree in Computer or Electrical EngineeringPossess a DODD 8570 certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar network/security certificationsDemonstrated knowledge in the areas of Ethernet based avionics bus interfaces, integrated avionics systems, and operational ground systemsDemonstrated understanding of IP address planning, VLANs, ACLs, encapsulation, switching, routing, QoS, service and/or application protocolsExperience with authentication and data encryption methods, to include securing communications at either the data-link or network layerExperience with embedded systems, Unix and Linux operating systems, non-Cisco routing environments, single board computers, servers and Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutionsExperience with working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposalsExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and managementAn active Top Secret clearanceNorthrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce. $92,600 - $139,000Salary Range 2:

$114,900 - $172,300The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
