Job Description:

The Team Leader (TL) acts as the main point of contact for the Project Manager regarding the execution, coordination, and management of activities related to the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) contract in an African country. The TL interfaces with the U.S. Embassy, the military leadership of the Host Nation, U.S. military personnel, international trainers, and other stakeholders involved in contract implementation. Responsibilities of the TL include managing personnel assignments for training tasks, upholding professional standards of accountability, quality, and effectiveness, overseeing conduct and discipline, tracking the movements of team members in the host country, and ensuring the quality and conduct of all task order activities. This role will provide support to GPOI operations in various African countries such as Togo, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. The training schedule, ranging from 2 to 25 weeks per year, will be determined by the U.S. Government.

Qualifications:

Minimum of fifteen (15) years of military service, with service post-September 11, 2001.

Attainment of military rank of CW-3, E9, or O3 and above.

Proven experience as a senior mentor/advisor to a senior foreign security partner, whether military or civilian, with direct involvement in capacity building and unit level assessments.

Recent experience in military operations or capacity building for foreign security forces (police or military) within the past 5 years.

Familiarity with the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

Requirements:

Commander of a USSF ODA or higher rank.

Proficient in organizational development, leading initiatives to enhance institutional effectiveness and facilitate sustainable organizational transformation.

Certified as a trained Foreign Area Officer (FAO) with specialized regional knowledge, including experience in an Office of Security Cooperation or Defense Attaché Office.

Led a combat arms battalion-level unit (combat arms encompassing infantry, armor, cavalry, engineer, field artillery, special forces, or special operations forces) within the U.S. or NATO military land forces.

Previous involvement in GPOI activities collaborating with the Tanzanian People's Defence Force (TPDF).

Experience within a U.S. or NATO military training and doctrine development institution, or a permanent assignment to a U.S. or foreign military training institution or combat training center.
