Darigold is seeking a Plant Manager to join our Plant Operations team in Jerome, ID. As a member of the Jerome team, the Plant Manager will be a true strategic partner in the Operations Division. The Plant Manager will possess the desire and ability to create and facilitate continuous improvement for the manufacturing plant’s processes, systems, competencies, and infrastructure.The Plant Manager’s role is to enable plant employees to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of the company, division, and the plant in a customer-satisfying and profitable fashion.Darigold is the fifth largest dairy cooperative in the United States based on milk volume and one of the largest privately held organizations headquartered in the state of Washington. Darigold is now known throughout the world for bringing fresh, wholesome dairy products and ingredients from the Northwest to people all around the globe.What You Will Do:Prepare an Operational Plan for the business unit.Prepare a Capital Expenditure Budget for each Fiscal Year.Develop a Succession Plan for the plant.Provide resources and training needed to execute the plant’s Operational Plan.Manage the continuous improvement system that engages employees in systematic, data-based improvement activities and succession planning.Assume total responsibility and accountability for profitability of the facility.Work directly with State, Local and National Regulatory Agencies and the Corporate Director of Regulatory Compliance to maintain and ensure compliance with specific regulatory requirements.Act as a spokesperson for the facility with city or local government officials on issues relative to ordinances, community investment programs and local Chamber of Commerce or business groups’ agendas and/or initiatives.Oversee Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) and the State Department of Labor compliance regarding plant and employee adherence to regulations.Work with Human Resource Department on Employment Law requirements and Labor Relations issues.What You Bring:Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in a management position in a dairy products manufacturing facility.Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Business or Engineering preferred.Demonstrated ability to work under stress.Demonstrated ability in statistical methods and process management.Demonstrated ability to lead small groups in achieving objectives.Dryer experience is a must.Ability to identify, assess and develop business development/process improvement projects and appropriate financial justification.Ability to develop personnel competencies and provide clear and concise understanding of objectives for the organization.Prepare subordinates for transition to position of Plant Manager or other higher-level positions in the organization.Ability to handle conflict and display diplomacy skills in handling situations which can be disruptive to the organization’s business development.Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills.Computer literate in PC-based applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and other common PC-based applications.Good technical understanding of Manufactured Dairy Products operations and equipment.Benefits of Working at Darigold:We understand that as an employee, benefits that support you and your family in and out of work are important.
