Application by members of diverse groups is encouraged.Purpose of Position: Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director of Annual Giving/Donor Experience Officer (DXO) plays a critical role in advancing annual fundraising strategy and results by managing a portfolio of donors and creating meaningful, lasting relationships through personalized communications and interactions at scale. This role is responsible for increasing donor retention, upgrading existing donors, and identifying and referring prospective major gift donors, contributing to the university's overall mission and fundraising goals.The Assistant Director of Annual Giving/Donor Experience Officer will leverage technology and data-driven strategies to engage current donors, tailoring outreach to connect them with relevant opportunities for involvement and deeper philanthropic impact across NKU's schools, colleges, and departments. annual donors through both digital and in-person interactions, with a focus on enhancing the donor experience.The Assistant Director of Annual Giving/Donor Experience Officer will collaborate closely with donor relations, gift officers, and other internal partners to ensure strategic alignment of engagement initiatives for members of the President's Society, NKU's recognition society for donors of $1,000 or more annually. Additionally, this role assists in planning and executing key initiatives, such as Founders' Day, NKU's annual day of giving.This position is instrumental in strengthening donor relationships and advancing NKU's annual giving efforts, directly contributing to the university's mission and long-term growth.Primary ResponsibilitiesDonor Engagement and Portfolio ManagementAchieve annual fundraising and engagement metrics by actively communicating with and building relationships with a portfolio of annual giving donors to drive deeper involvement and upgraded donations.Utilize technology, social media, and video conferencing tools to deliver personalized and donor-centric engagement outreach.Develop and implement monthly and quarterly outreach cadences to ensure consistent, relevant communication.Refer prospective major gift donors to the gift officer team for assessment and qualification.Document interactions and maintain timely, quality records in the donor database.Annual Giving CampaignsAssist in planning and executing key fundraising initiatives, including Founders' Day.Secure corporate matching gifts and support overall annual giving campaigns.Stewardship TouchpointsWork with the Director of Donor Relations to create and execute engagement opportunities and touchpoints for President's Society members.Communicate and coordinate with major gift officers on touchpoints for donors who are currently managed.Campus Engagement and Support of Institutional Advancement GoalsDevelop relationships and knowledge across the breadth of campus programs to inform core donor engagement and fundraising objectives.Act as a concierge for development, managing incoming communications and assisting donors with inquiries.Contribute to the broader goals of the Institutional Advancement Division.Perform additional tasks as directed by the Director of Annual Giving.Qualifications*Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience required.*Word, Outlook, Excel, SAP, and Raiser's Edge preferred.*Strong written communication skills to prepare and edit effective correspondence, proposals, and persuasive solicitation materials for individuals and groups.*Demonstrated ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships to deliver measurable results.*Close attention to detail, managing multiple projects at once.*Effectively engage donors digitally through phone, text, email, and social media.*Ability to problem solve and generate creative solutions to maintain and strengthen high-quality relationships with donors.*Exceptional ethics and integrity, ability to be discrete and maintain confidentiality.*Must have passion for philanthropy, higher education, NKU, and the community that it serves.
