Data Analyst Engineer - Associate

This role develops enterprise data solutions that support the organization in achieving its strategic goals. Your work on cloud data pipelines will advance our enterprise data capabilities, while you get immersed in our collaborative, fun, and engaging culture. The position reports to our IT Data Engineering department and is a part of projects that align with key strategic initiatives to meet SEI’s business objectives. In your role, you will be part of a team that is responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment and support of cloud-based (GCP), data, analytical, and reporting applications.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Conduct and/or participate in requirements analysis sessions with internal customers and project teams.Translate business requirements into technical designs for Business Intelligence dashboards and reports.Develop technical design documents that include data warehouse data sets, data models, calculated measure definitions, and hierarchy definitions.Follow agile development methodologies and actively participate in sprint planning sessions.Conduct detailed analysis of source systems using SQL skills in analyzing and documenting current and future business processes.Development and maintenance of ETL data pipelines with SQL and Python-based transformations running on a cloud platform.Support self-service reporting users and resolve production issues with excellent customer service.Conduct other duties as assigned.Job Skills:

Strong data analysis skills including defining and reporting key metrics.Hands-on experience in creating visualizations and presentations in Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint.Good understanding of relational database design, theories, principles, and practices.Good relationship-building, customer service, and problem resolution skills.Knowledge of software engineering, version control, and testing practices.Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.Works effectively in a dynamic work environment with competing priorities.Work Experience:

2+ years of experience in writing simple and advanced SQL queries.Experience in data model design, data transformation, and/or data validation is nice to have.Experience in designing and building data visualizations is nice to have.Experience with Python is nice to have.Experience with GCP Big Query is nice to have.Experience with development in a version control environment is nice to have, e.g., Git.Education:

From an accredited institution, Bachelor’s degree is required.Other:
