Job Overview

The Environmental Manager will oversee environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives within the organization, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and promoting environmentally safe practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manure Management Plans:

Responsible for writing and keeping current all Manure Management Plans for all of Passel Farms production facilities, including but not limited to: maintaining and distributing reports; maintaining water consumption and manure storage reports; running statistical analysis of reports; consulting with manure recipients on proper usage and/or questions regarding manure and other nutrient sources; maintaining required certification records for all production sites; developing additional in-house training for employees, custom applicators, and growers specific to correct nutrient management and applications; improving current manure easement in both location and recovery dollars; and promptly reporting unauthorized manure releases to DNR ensuring compliance with cleanup regulations.

Government Programs/Regulations:

Ensures compliance with federal farm programs’ guidelines and environmental guidelines and laws.

New Construction Permits:

Works with Project Development Coordinator regarding DNR to obtain the proper permits required to construct new swine facilities.

Purchase of Property/Land Lease Agreements:

Works directly with senior management to assist in property purchases and negotiates with representatives to effect property transfers, sales, rental, and leasing agreements.

Safety Regulations:

Works with Passel safety team to ensure all measures are taken to perform manure application safely.

Inspection of Manure Storage Facilities:

Inspects manure storage facilities to evaluate physical conditions and promote safety; complies with all guidelines/regulations/work safety standards; expects same from staff.

Miscellaneous:

Oversees NPDES and Property Pollution Control programs; keeps supervisor and other staff/stakeholders informed/updated; promptly handles all necessary paperwork.

Pay:

$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
