Job Description:

Job Family Definition:

Accountable for development, planning, execution, and management of various activities related to materials and inventory control for materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Examples include logistics coordination, shipping/receiving, distribution, storage of materials, and cycle counting programs. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, inspection; order fulfillment; shipping; kitting; movement of materials; ensuring physical inventory and maintaining designated inventory records using various material tracking systems; and scheduling work for designated areas of operations; compiling data for reports; and statistical analysis.

Role Requires:

Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q Clearance or have held one in the past 3 years; if previous clearance, must not foresee a problem with it being reinstated.

Role will be on-site at customer location in Los Alamos, NM.

Duties require US Citizenship.

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision-making process. Exercises independent judgment to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

Responsibilities:

Maintain the HPC systems availability to the customer.

Tracking/documenting hardware repairs as well as opening, tracking, closing part cases and returning replaced parts.

Provides complex-level procurement support using subject matter expertise of a few technologies and knowledge of multiple technologies.

Solves complex issues and drives tactical and strategic initiatives, such as leading process standardizations; executing program strategies; or coordinating integration of small acquisitions.

Monitors programs, delivery solutions, key metrics, and process-oriented tasks; identifies issues and proposed solutions with limited guidance.

Collaborates with or leads teams to maintain and enhance the current business objectives, such as cost-management.

Provides independent, analytic, and strategic support.

Mentors lower-level contributors.

Works with minimal direction from the technical lead and with customer nominated representatives to accomplish assigned tasks.

Participates as part of a team and maintains good relationships with team members and customers.

Education and Experience Required:

First level university degree or equivalent experience; may have advanced university degree.

Typically, 2-4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain function.

Knowledge and Skills:

Understanding of a Data Center IT Operations environment.

Ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment.

Excellent interpersonal, customer relations and problem management skills, with the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure while working to strict deadlines.

Strong understanding of procurement processes.

Strong analytical and technical aptitude.

Strong business application skills.

Good understanding of corporate compliance.

Good project management skills.

Occasional travel for training is required.
