Location: Bend, OregonStarting Wage/Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 plus exceptional benefitsClose Date: 09/29/2024Position Type: AdministrativeFTE: 1.0Contract Months: 12Primary PurposeThe Assistant Director Campus Services – Grounds/Custodial coordinates, supervises, and manages grounds and custodial staff, projects, and activities to ensure that goals and objectives align with COCC’s mission and strategic initiatives. This position programmatically plans, schedules, supervises, directs, and acts as backup to the work of personnel engaged in all grounds and custodial functions of the College.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversight of Grounds and Custodial:

Maintenance of campus grounds, landscaping projects, irrigation maintenance and repair, hardscape repairs, parking lot maintenance, exterior signage, campus shuttle, event set-ups, office moves, and coordination of snow removal.Custodial Responsibilities:

Cleaning of all classrooms, restrooms, and public interior spaces; coordination of contracted and temporary custodial staff and supplies.Lead work with landscape contractors and the grounds team to design and repurpose outdoor spaces.Purchase Grounds and Custodial supplies and equipment; test and evaluate proposed new equipment.Prepare, negotiate and administer proposals and bids for Grounds and Custodial-related projects.Create and administer outside contracts for landscape, hardscape, and custodial contracts.Coordinate equipment maintenance and manage budgets for Grounds and Custodial.Supervise custodians, grounds specialists, and temporary employees; conduct staff meetings and performance evaluations.Participate in project management regarding Grounds and Custodial needs.Manage public relations with COCC neighbors regarding Grounds and Custodial-related tasks.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to apply leadership skills for a diverse team.Knowledge of principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.Ability to apply project management principles.Knowledge of landscaping techniques and custodial practices.Ability to interpret and apply health and safety procedures.Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.Education:Associate degree in business, landscape maintenance, or related field.Experience:Two years of progressively responsible experience in grounds, custodial, or similar capacity.Two years in budgeting, scheduling, and project management.Two years of supervisory experience.Certifications:Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).Oregon State Integrated Pest Management certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, landscape maintenance, or related field.Experience in public-sector grounds or custodial capacity.Experience using software applications related to position responsibilities.EEO StatementThe goal of Central Oregon Community College is to provide an atmosphere that encourages our faculty, staff, and students to realize their full potential.
