Join INVISTA as a Machinery Specialist at our Victoria, TX plant to join our maintenance team.Our TeamThe Machinery Specialist is a key member of the Machinery Asset team. The Machinery Specialist will work within a team whose goal is improving the runtime and stability of the rotating equipment in our petrochemical plant by providing technical support to solve reliability problems, troubleshooting complex scenarios, and the application of new and emerging technology to prevent unplanned events and achieve stable and reliable operation at the facility.As a key member of the machinery capability, this role will work closely with the manufacturing business teams to improve the reliability of rotating equipment through continuous improvement of critical assets by application of condition assessment practices, strategies, operating limits, turnaround scoping, precision quality control, and mitigation of equipment system risk.The successful candidate will have experience as a rotating equipment subject matter expert in the areas of condition monitoring & anomaly detection, root cause analysis, complex repair scopes of work, and use of the decision-making framework.What You Will DoThe goal of the Machinery Specialist is to advance the business by increasing the performance of critical rotating equipment and process unit availability, thus reducing unplanned events caused by machinery.Provide rotating equipment technical support to the Business and support the highest value initiatives. This includes 5-year planning, bad actor evaluation, risk management, turnaround scoping, and project support.Support run time improvement by providing technical support to the application of condition-based, predictive, and prescriptive reliability strategies to meet runtime goals for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, centrifuges, motors, gearboxes, fans, and blowers.Technical support for the various monitoring processes for diagnosis of equipment problems and development of recommendations for timing of overhauls and scopes of work.Lead and support machinery-related projects, including overhauls, upgrade of existing equipment, and new equipment. Lead related management of change.Support the Mechanical Integrity program requirements including supporting auditing and corrective actions for the covered equipment population.Analyze rotating equipment maintenance and operational data and metrics to identify trends and new opportunities for improvement in equipment reliability.Conduct and provide technical support to root cause analysis on equipment failures to identify underlying issues and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.Provide rotating equipment technical support to the Bad Actor process. Analyze and develop solutions to eliminate vulnerabilities, and single-point failures, and apply advanced monitoring.Provide technical support to determine optimized final repair and overhaul scopes of work and review critical inspection hold points to maximize the reliability of equipment.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Experience in a chemical plant or refinery focused on repair or improvement of rotating equipment reliability.Experience performing condition assessment, application of maintenance strategies, precision maintenance concepts, and generating repair or preventive scopes of repair.What Will Put You AheadDemonstrated experience performing or directing rotating equipment precision maintenance or engineering experience improving the performance, runtime, and/or efficiency of critical rotating equipment in the petrochemical, refining, oil & gas, or other similar manufacturing facilities.Certification and/or qualified knowledge in the application of rotating equipment performance inspection, assessment, testing, and preventive maintenance.Certification and/or qualified knowledge in condition monitoring methods (vibration, lubrication, other technologies), including measurement, issue identification, and scopes of repair.Competent in the skills of rotating equipment, troubleshooting root cause investigation, and reliability improvement processes. (ie: NCCER Millwright Certification)Experience evaluating equipment performance and leading equipment changes that increase equipment runtime for general and special purpose rotating equipment (steam or gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, centrifuges, etc.)Experience in leading management of change related projects.Certification in Vibration Analysis with experience.Certification in Lubrication Analysis with experience.This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.This role is subject to a pre-hire physical abilities test.Hiring PhilosophyAll Koch companies value diversity of thought, perspectives, aptitudes, experiences, and backgrounds.
