Job DescriptionScope and ObjectivesThe Fire Technician & BMS operator works under the supervision of the fire and safety officer, to perform maintenance tasks which include preventive and corrective maintenance, while overseeing the fire command center and BMS station and taking necessary action as required.Example of DutiesEssential Function70 %:

Responsible for performing maintenance and monitoring tasks including preventive and corrective maintenance. Monitoring involves overseeing the fire command center and BMS workstation and any alarms to take necessary action in coordination with the team.10 %:

Record all parameters of various systems through the BMS system and report necessary variations to the supervisor for corrective action.10 %:

Maintain the log for all events happening with the fire system and BMS system.10 %:

Follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance work orders and ensure they are executed as per the schedule. Team members who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.

QualificationsSpecific Job Knowledge, Skill and AbilityPerform the preventive and corrective maintenance for fire alarm and firefighting systems.Monitor the fire command center and respond to alarms and emergencies.Monitor and control BMS systems.Maintain the log for all events related to alarms and notifications.Oversee third-party contractor works and obtain necessary documents.Maintain all necessary documents in coordination with the document controller, especially for fire systems for QCDD certification purposes.Support the fire safety officer in day-to-day activities like inspections, visits, etc.Evaluate stock inventory and make requests for the spare parts required for corrective maintenance.Participate in fire drills.Perform daily visual inspections for various fire and life safety equipment to ensure they are operational.Report unsafe conditions, near misses, etc.Maintain all tools and equipment used for operation and maintenance.Ensure that all engineering spaces are safe, kept clean, and orderly at all times.Comply with hotel and corporate SOPs.Prepare weekly walkthroughs to check all engineering critical areas for necessary action.Follow up on company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment. Attend all departmental training and other training programs.Work on continuous improvements related to your field of expertise.Qualification Standards EducationAny combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.Licenses or CertificatesAbility to obtain any government-required license or certificate. CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred. Any licenses or permits that may be required by law or company regulations, such as an Electrician's license.ExperienceFive years’ experience in the same field in hospitality.
