JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the successful operation of the Rainbow City Shop, located in the lobby during performances and at various tabling events throughout the summer. This role involves provisioning merchandise, managing inventory, overseeing shop activities at events, and maintaining accurate financial reports.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Selects merchandise that aligns with the organization’s brand and appeals to the audience that fits in budget and with approval from the Executive Director.

Maintains accurate inventory records and conducts regular stock checks.

Sets up the shop display in an attractive and accessible manner for each event.

Trains and supervises volunteers to assist with sales and customer service.

Handles cash transactions and operates the point-of-sale system efficiently.

Keeps track of sales data and provides detailed financial reports after each event.

Analyzes sales trends to inform future merchandise decisions and pricing strategies.

Attends the monthly departmental meeting and coordinates with other staff as needed.

Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills that align with and support the organization’s Mission and Core Values.

Complies with the organization’s by-laws, policies, procedures, and member covenants; seeks clarification and guidance as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Ability to keep track of sales data and provide detailed financial reports after each event.

Ability to analyze sales trends to inform future merchandise decisions and pricing strategies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work involves using hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The individual may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry objects up to 45 pounds.

This individual will often work in environments with high noise levels, typically ranging from 50 to 80 decibels around the shop when the lobby is full of patrons.
