We are currently looking to hire a

Strategic Sourcing Specialist

for one of our clients based in

Dallas Fort Worth, TX . Our client is one of the world’s leading industrial materials companies whose products are critical to the modern economy and carbon reduction. Their materials are essential to the low-carbon, electrified technologies that power modern life, which you will find in products from electric cars to wind turbines.

This position is responsible for performing tactical sourcing activities, including purchasing and negotiating of materials, equipment, and services from suppliers. The Sourcing Specialist assists departments in the evaluation of goods and services as needed; ensures that internal customer expectations and requirements are met; and resolves any conflicts or supplier performance issues. The Sourcing Specialist is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within procurement and strategic sourcing methodology fields and relies on experience/judgment to plan and execute sourcing activities. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Attention to detail is critical.

Below is a list of the key responsibilities for the role, whilst not exhaustive, that you’ll need to be able to perform:

Utilizes tools and practices such as RFx, bid analysis, and negotiations to maximize the value from expenditures.

Procures materials, equipment, and services for maintenance, repairs, and operation of the plants.

Evaluates competitive bids and negotiates agreements.

Maintains awareness of current market conditions, new products, and supply sources for assigned commodities and new technologies.

Maintains consistent communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders. Works to resolve problems that affect company quality and delivery commitments.

Supports development of estimates by obtaining proposals for materials and services needed in support operations.

Proficiency in total life cycle cost or other commercial analysis and process improvement methods utilized to support company initiatives.

To be successful in the role, you’ll need to have a bachelor’s in supply chain or other similar business-related degree. A CPSM designation would also be highly attractive to the client. You must have strong analytical and presentation skills; extensive SAP experience would also be of significant value.
