Summary:

One of our Government clients in Indianapolis is hiring an IT Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of a large enterprise scale technology replacement project.

The Material and Child Health project - Resource will ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame, funding parameters, and requirements.

The ideal candidate will have an engaging personality with the ability to communicate and engage all levels of the business and user community. The individual selected must be comfortable with technology, possess good analytical skills, and possess superior customer service skills. Individual must be a team player willing to do what is needed to get the job done.

Essential Duties/ Job Responsibilities:

Executes the project plans and activities following project management best practices ensuring quality and integrity of the information throughout the entire life cycle of the project.

Interacts with stakeholders across the organization including Sr. Leadership and Executives to accomplish goals while successfully delivering project and improving business processes.

Guides and facilitates stakeholders in establishing detailed requirements for complex projects.

Defines and documents the project scope, objectives, requirements, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and key technical resources.

Creates, manages, and maintains the project schedule throughout the entire project life cycle.

Independently manages assigned projects to ensure outcomes match agreed upon customer expectations.

Leads project team status meetings to ensure project milestones are met and dependencies are tracked.

Monitors project progress and provides regular project status reports to stakeholders, including project health, risks, and issues.

Manages project risks and issues, identifying and mitigating potential roadblocks.

Manages project scope changes and ensures they are documented, reviewed, and approved by stakeholders.

Ensures IT systems and workflows are well-documented for future reference.

Participates in QA and UAT planning and execution.

Creates and maintains all forms of project documentation and records.

Performs post-implementation reviews to ensure goals were met and identify lessons learned.

Desired Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business, or related field.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong understanding of project management methodologies is required.

Strong experience leading, facilitating, and motivating teams for medium to large scale IT projects required.

Strong understanding and experience working with stakeholders in achieving their goals required.

Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills required.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization required.

Advanced troubleshooting, critical thinking, analytical problem-solving, writing, and communication skills.

Ability to develop productive working relationships and collaborate with people across the organization.

Demonstrable experience in managing vendor relations and partnerships within the project lifecycle.

Ability to handle multiple tasks beyond the routine.

High degree of independence, intuition, and initiative.

Ability to maintain composure when projects do not proceed as planned.

Ability to manage the work of a team engaged in providing specific services and projects.

Strong experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, and Office.

Prior healthcare industry experience highly preferred.

PMP, Scrum, or similar certifications desired.

New COTS implementation experience - Highly desired.

Strong understanding of healthcare enterprise systems desired.
