Seminole County Government has approximately 1,666 FTEs across 14 departments and an FY2023/24 Adopted Budget of $1.07 billion. The Building Official reports to the Building Division Manager and is responsible for oversight of plan review, permitting, and inspections of all building construction projects in unincorporated Seminole County, related to compliance with building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, gas, energy, accessibility, and other construction codes as required by State law or County ordinance.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred.Fifteen (15) years of experience as a Building Inspector, Architect, Engineer, or Building Contractor, with at least five (5) years in supervisory positions.A Florida State Building Code Administrator License is required.An equivalent amount of training and education may substitute for the minimum qualifications.The salary range is $78,705 - $125,928; the starting salary depends on qualifications and is accompanied by a competitive benefits package.
