$800 – $950/weekWe are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Camp Director to manage our camp, The STEAM Project, a Summer Day camp that teaches kids design, technology, and science in a traditional summer camp setting. In this role, your duties will include managing the day-to-day administration of the day camp and the design of camp activities. They are responsible for the training camp employees, recruitment and retainment of camp families, monitoring expenses, and ordering supplies.To ensure success, Assistant Camp Directors should exhibit experience in a camp setting and demonstrate the ability to assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of a camp. Outstanding candidates prioritize the safety of all campers and ensure an excellent camp experience.Role & Responsibilities

Consulting with stakeholders to determine camp requirementsSupervising a camp curriculum with level-appropriate activitiesPlanning daily camp activities and creating activity schedulesPresenting camp information to prospective clients, when requiredHiring camp employees, including activity specialists, recreation leaders, and camp counselorsOverseeing camp employees as well as ensuring the wellbeing of campersManaging the allocated budget, as well as ordering camp equipment and suppliesEnsuring safe practices and a healthy camp environmentKeeping records and documenting processesRequirements

Demonstrable experience as an Assistant Camp Director managing similarly structured campsExperience in planning and developing camp activities, as well as modifying activities when required is a plusAdvanced ability to hire, train, and oversee camp employees, as well as ensuring the campers’ wellbeing.Extensive experience in working with children as well as arranging supplies and equipment.Ability to manage budgets and monitor expenses.Proficiency in office software, including Google Drive & Gmail, MS Word, ExcelIn-depth knowledge of activity-related safety regulations, as well as health and sanitation requirements is a plusAbility to document processes and perform recordkeepingExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsThis job may be funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). The SWPP program requires that candidates be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
