to join Grid Software’s Power Technologies International (PTI) team. This role is critical to the planning, protection, and integration of renewables, storage, and Electrical Vehicles (EVs) to the distribution electrical grids and to perform large-scale simulations of electrical systems for clients. These clients range from power producers, independent system operators, and Transmission and Distribution (T&D) utilities to develop solutions for safe, reliable power system operations.This is a remote position based in the Contiguous U.S.You’ll make an impact as you:Perform distribution planning through the application of power systems planning principles to simulate and analyze the power system steady state and dynamic behavior.Prepare detailed written reports, describing performed analyses, conclusions, and recommendations.Work in small project teams, ensuring deliverables are of high quality and projects are completed within budget and schedule.Develop automation scripts to improve the speed and accuracy of simulations and analysis.Support proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines.Deliver on-site technical consulting/training services.You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.A minimum of 3 years of experience in the electric power industry (academic research experience pursuing master’s degree or PhD will be considered toward this experience requirement); Candidates with 5 or more years of this experience may be considered for a Senior Power Systems Consultant role.Must have practical knowledge of distribution system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability using PSSE, CYME, SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, PSCAD, PSLF, or other distribution planning tools.Ability to travel 10% domestically.Preferred qualifications:Prior experience in Power System Consulting.Experience in performing protection coordination and arc-flash studies using CYME, SKM, EasyPower, or ETAP software tool is preferred.Experience in distribution system planning or operations, microgrids, and load/generation forecasting and integration is preferred.A master's degree or PhD in electrical engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.You’ll benefit from:Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to our employees.
