Your JobThe Global Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing global category strategies for the defined categories with the business objectives to achieve the desired economical outcome. There will be a focus on managing die-casting, machining, drive and improve values with total cost of ownership for assigned category.Partner and collaborate with internal stakeholders to build relationships and lead global strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier management, supply assurance, cost management, and provide technical expertise.What You Will DoTake ownership of the assigned category and be a subject matter expert.Develop and execute category strategies by working closely with all stakeholders and refresh periodically.Provide leadership and guidance as a category subject matter expert, technically and commercially.Support and lead on spend, saving analytics and report outs related to the Category.Supplier segmentation based on the defined global procurement guidelines.Build and manage supplier relationships, supply continuity, supplier development, and change management needs.Improve total cost of ownership by reducing purchase prices and key KPI drivers.Enhance cash flow for the assigned category, improve DSI, DTP, S&E.Continually explore cost reduction opportunities through value engineering, supply chain optimization, alternates, process improvements, dual sourcing, negotiations, and rebate management.Be the lead negotiator in cost reduction and price erosion.Monitor and advise on setting standard cost.Champion category projects as assigned.Collaborate with key stakeholders in defining the long-term value proposition of purchased components.Create, execute, and manage contracts/agreements with suppliers.Monitor market dynamics for category across regions, including market value drivers and forecasts.Champion change and innovation, leading and supporting extended teams.Collaborate closely with business departments to ensure supply continuity and business roadmaps.Understand, support, and comply with current Molex policies and practices related to business programs including but not limited to government regulations.Perform other related duties as assigned by management.Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor's degree in mechanical.5+ years' experience in the procurement function focused on direct spend.3+ years' experience focused on category management.Ability to travel up to 30%, flexibility to work extended hours.What Will Put You AheadMaster's Degree.Previous background in Engineering, Finance, Project/Business Management.Experience working with leading international teams.Expertise in machined components, hardware, and die casting.Deep knowledge of SAP and other procurement tools.Strong interpersonal skills to effectively influence, network, and work with culturally diverse teams at different levels within the organization.Good organizational and analytical skills, including negotiations and supplier engagement.Knowledge of die casting, machining, fasteners, hardware supply bases, technologies, and products.Oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization and deliver presentations.Demonstrated experience driving cross-functional collaboration and across geographies.At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
