Invitation Homes is a place where possibility lives.The Manager of Product Management is responsible for leading product development efforts across multiple technology platforms intended to solve critical pain points for both our customers and our associates. They deeply understand the organization’s business model, how their assigned products impact the day-to-day operations, and work with functional leaders to identify opportunities to evolve, transform, and optimize both. They also understand the competitive landscape of their products as well as their relative position among the pack. The Manager has the unique responsibility to span all functional areas of the company to ensure our technology platforms are providing the right level of support for successful business operations. This includes leasing, marketing, maintenance, payments, recruiting, branding, legal, compliance, investments, and investor relations. They lead product development teams to build the right solution at the right time while balancing cost, risk, speed, intuition, and future need.What You’ll Do

Work to create product roadmaps that align to the approved product strategyMentor and manage a team of associate product managers and/or contract resources in all assigned delivery effortsEstablish and constantly foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure clear and direct communication around current and future product effortsBuild and prioritize product backlogs informed by customer research and available analytics, and build consensus among stakeholders to optimize experiences for our customers and create efficiencies for our associatesPartner with the UX/UI team to deliver design artifacts which meet our established standards and goalsPartner with the engineering leads to gain a high-level understanding of the technology integrations that enable the customer- and associate-facing functions across multiple platformsBuild strong working knowledge of the systems and operational processes in the IH landscape that may be impacted with each new product development effortEffectively manage the scope of approved efforts, mitigate delivery risks where possible, and negotiate delivery trade-offs as needed when priorities changePartner with 3rd party vendors where appropriate to commission, prioritize and manage delivery effortsPartner with legal, risk, and security teams to ensure compliance-related items meet established standardsWork with data analysts to create and implement success metrics for each new effort, continuously monitor product performance throughout its lifecycle, and be willing to decommission those that no longer provide notable value or support corporate prioritiesKeep a pulse on the competitive and vendor landscape and identify opportunities and strategies to drive business resultsParticipate in solutioning; articulate your ideas through wireframes/sketches and research best-in-class solutionsDrive a cross-functional team to deliver on technology commitments:Set a 2-3 year vision for your product and inspire teams to build something greatGenerate and evangelize a product roadmap for your area of oversightConstantly prioritize user stories; balance feature development, defects, and tech debt according to business needBe a champion of continuous improvement and delivery; define the minimum viable product, focus teams on key release milestones, and leverage fast-follow sprintsEnable sprint progress; clarify story details, validate completed stories, and prepare stories for the next sprintOrchestrate product review sessions; gracefully accept feedback from stakeholders and maintain flexibility as product requirements and priorities evolveAct as product and technology evangelist and build excitement amongst key stakeholdersGenerate release and knowledge base documentation and partner on field training activitiesCooperate with the support team to investigate and resolve product defectsEnsure prompt resolution for technical and business issuesWho We’re Looking For

4+ years of experience in a software delivery role; product management experience preferredBachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in real estate, travel, or retail preferredLean & Rapid Experimentation expertise preferredExperience being the owner of one or more software products, with a track record of successful releases and updatesStrong business and technical acumenAgile/Scrum mindset and expertiseAbility to communicate complex information in simple terms to a wide variety of audiencesStrong written and oral communication skills and an ability to work collaborativelyAbility to negotiate without being adversarialAbility to effectively communicate and partner with executives and senior-level leadersAbility to lead projects across multiple teams and stakeholders through organization, collaboration, and charismaEmpathy for the customer and associate experiences as an equal footing input to prioritizationAbility to influence cross-functional teams without formal authorityExcellent teamwork skills; strong ability to motivate engineering teams and foster creativityExcellent ability to manage expectations while making others feel heard and respectedWilling to go above and beyond while taking ownership of needs that existServe as a problem-solver and embrace changeWhy Invitation Homes
