Reports to the Director of Strategic Sourcing for Electronics Gasses.Work Design:

Position is part of a larger function. Follows established organizational policies. Develops procedures and recommends policies. Decisions involve translating the Division’s goals and objectives into the unit’s objectives. Accomplish defined work assignments and projects as defined by senior management while conducting and implementing actions and short-term planning.Essential Functions:Develop “best of class” process to manage overall procurement efforts and drive corporate savings through identification, analysis and establishment of common strategic practices.Review branch inventory patterns, purchase patterns, and inventory levels to ensure proper inventory management that results in maximum inventory turns. The goal is a minimum of 4 turns per year. Corporate-wide reduction in inventories will be managed in conjunction with MRP.Improve product costs and quality position through negotiations and supply agreements with qualified suppliers and new suppliers. Equal to or better pricing than our competition.Obtain 1 year firm pricing for products whenever possible.Control escalation costs on supply agreements whose term is greater than one year.Develop, implement and coordinate improvement projects in quality, cost and delivery between the supplier base and the individual manufacturing location. Manufacturing facilities must begin procuring products based on supply agreements instead of purchasing independently.On time deliveries of 95% as measured in product shipped on time from suppliers. On time shipments are defined as suppliers shipping products on the date shown on the MATHESON purchase order. Suppliers shall be required to confirm MATHESON purchase orders via email or fax with committed ship dates. Products shipped from a supplier must meet or exceed the MATHESON product specifications.Negotiate supplier agreements that result in additional company savings such as consigned inventories, reduction in freight costs, supplier warehousing of empty Matheson Tri-Gas cylinders to reduce lead times and freight costs, resulting in reduced inventories at Matheson locations.Interface as liaison between purchasing, manufacturing, tech services, product management and other departments to ensure continuity and effectiveness of addressing cost improvement initiatives.Monitor supplier performance (Perform supplier audits both on site (minimum 3-5 annually) and through ISO format paper audits (minimum 7-10 annually). Work closely with the quality department to coordinate and perform these audits.Monitor supplier performance for product quality, specification conformance, accurate documentation such as certificates of analysis, and on-time shipments. Supplier performance results shall be used to negotiate future agreements and to aid in determining the long-term viability of the supplier to MATHESON.Take an active role in supplier non-conformance issues.Develop U.S. and global sources as needed to meet quality, delivery and price objectives.Ensure uninterrupted source of material supply.Create and execute comprehensive supply management strategies to reduce risk of supply (contingency supply chain management).Develop strategic and tactical sourcing strategies.Understand supplier capabilities.Establish good working relationships with suppliers. Implement Strategic sourcing relationships.Negotiate exclusive agreements with suppliers to provide Matheson with a competitive edge over our competitors.Required for All Jobs:

Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree (preferred).Work Experience:
