POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting the Shipping Supervisor in leading the shipping clerks. Support shipping and logistics activities by preparing products for shipping and assist the Shipping Supervisor in the daily tasks. Manage and maintain finished good inventory in SAP system and perform weekly cycle counts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve as point of contact and interact with customer service, production, engineering, quality, and other internal/external customers regarding shipment inquiries and schedules.
Manage and maintain finished good inventory and transactions in SAP system. Perform weekly cycle counts to maintain the inventory accuracy.
Coordinate transportation activities by preparing domestic and international documents, such as bills of lading or shipping orders, and access the customers shipping portals to route products and/or materials for delivery.
Pack, seal, or affix labels to prepare materials for shipping, using hand and power tools when necessary.
Move stock or other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers by hand or using pallet jacks, forklift, carts, or other equipment.
Oversee material deliveries from production to the department to keep the flow of materials going through the packaging line.
Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure inventory is protected.
Assist with overseeing and directing the activities of shipping employees.
Assist with monitoring employee productivity and work process problems.
Assist Shipping Supervisor by cross-training on their function and perform job duties when necessary.
Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures and perform all other related duties as assigned by the manager.
