Each and everyday girls and boys are left to find their own recreation and companionship. An increasing number of kids are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know they have a place in their community where they can go. Clubs provide a safe haven for youth, allow them to meet with friends and be a part of positive peer groups. Club programs teach life skills, conflict resolution and focus on the development of character. Clubs also provide members with positive role models and a nurturing environment that help improve decision-making skills.Position SummaryThe Social Worker/Mental Health professional is responsible for the development of the mental health support program as defined by the ARPA & other grant that supports the program. This role will provide targeted tier 2 level, club-based mental health support within Sussex County including individual, group, and referral support services, using trauma-informed care approaches to identified youth and their families between the ages of 5 to 18, as well as facilitate Trauma Informed Care Training (TICT) to BGCDE staff.This position is grant funded through private foundation, continuation of this position is dependent on pending grant funding beyond 3/31/2026.Essential Functions:Provide Trauma Informed Care Training (TICT) to BGCDE staff at locations throughout Sussex County.Assist in conflict resolution and behavior management of youth as needed, engaging staff where appropriate.Provide individual and group counseling to targeted youth.Maintain communication with parents and guardians to monitor and support progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.Maintain appropriate documentation of services provided to youth and families.Collaborate with external professionals to make available appropriate agency services for youth and families.Maintain & track data to support completing quarterly reports to funders in a timely manner.Make appropriate referrals for cases that need more intensive treatment.Participate in child abuse and neglect reporting.Serve as a liaison with outside agencies and service providers to bring external services and expertise to youth and families.Attend trainings and implement learned objectives in conflict resolution, de-escalation and other areas related to youth support.Attend monthly State of Delaware TI support meetings.Utilize tools and resources to develop a social service resource network within the neighborhood/community.Maintain records and keep accurate documentation of sessions, meetings, or other communications appropriate to ethical and professional standards and observe client confidentiality.Facilitate TIC training to bring the organization from current level 2 to level 4.Qualifications and Education Requirements:Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work (MSW) or related field; LCSW Preferred.State of Delaware Train the Trainer Trauma Informed Care Certification, or ability to obtain certificate within first 90 days of employment.Valid driver's license.Minimum of 1 year experience with high-risk youth and their families.Minimum of 1 year experience working with teens/elementary age children preferred.Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and rapport; ability to adapt and be flexible.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and high level of accuracy; information gathering and monitoring.Demonstrated ability to function independently and possess flexibility, personal integrity.Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.Demonstrated ability to work across cultures, ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic groups.Experience in conducting training and familiarity with adult learning styles.Working Conditions:Conditions may vary from various meeting locations.Maintain a high energy level.Ability to perform duties effectively under stressful conditions; ability to make decisions quickly and accurately with tact and impartiality.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Work Hours:

Monday- Friday, between the hours of 8:00AM- 6:00PM. Flexibility to work split shift as needed.
