The Sr. Technical Project Manager is the single point of contact for non-routine to moderately complex installation projects for communication networks. The position reports to the Manager Federal Programs and is an integral part of the Government Programs Project Management Office (GPPMO). The Sr. Technical Project Manager works with a team of Technical Project Managers and Coordinator Technical Projects staff and is accountable for meeting contractual performance criteria and due dates during service delivery, and successful overall project completion.Required: Top Secret/SCI with Poly Security ClearanceLocation

Herndon, VAThe Main Responsibilities

Coordinate activities in support of program managers and teams that support the design, installation and maintenance of servicesTrack and monitor projects from initiation through completionPrepare deliverables (e.g., status reports to Government, order information, open issues)Analyze contracts, product and service descriptions, and network technical requirements to identify parameters required to initiate service order processing and project implementationWork directly with Government representatives, engineers and program manager to develop scope of work, timeline, communication plan and all pertinent aspects of comprehensive project managementEnsure Government commitments and expectations, and project deliverable requirements are metPromote project management and industry best practices to enhance project success and customer satisfactionDirect on-time implementation of products and evaluate and maintain progressManage resources and processes, and resolve issues to ensure timely deliveryControl installation activities through scope verification, changes, and performance measurementsMonitor progress to ensure critical project targets are metIdentify and anticipate failures and delays based on lessons learned and previous experienceEngage appropriate resources to troubleshoot and isolate problems, and develop new procedures if requiredMake recommendations to improve efficiency (schedule and cost)Evaluate performance measures and direct corrective actionsDevelop solutions to meet project milestonesRecognize risks and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with customer service and contractual expectationsNotify the Customer of work completion and obtain acceptance of final deliverables, services, and products providedEnsure final documents are complete and delivered as required by the contractSolicit feedback from customer to determine customer satisfaction (perception of service quality and effectiveness)Review and update forecast budgets for program and project related activitiesManage program and project related invoicesPrepare quotes based on pre-established or contract ratesEnsure services are completed and billed according to contractual obligationsConduct review for completeness and accuracy of services provided and charges listedReview management document deliverables for clarity and completenessUnderstanding of communications products and services, Government contracting and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and contract terms and conditions requiredProficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project and PowerPoint) requiredGood communication, organizational, and problem solving skillsGood analytical and inductive reasoning skills (ability to develop solutions and recommendations)Work in a team environmentSome travel may be requiredWhat We Look For in a Candidate

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in project management, technical management, business management, communications, engineering, or related disciplineMinimum two years of experience; or minimum five years of professional work experienceGeneral experience includes: customer service, project management, network service, and provisioningProject Management Professional (PMP) certification preferredUS Citizenship requiredMay be required to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation)Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.
