Summary:

As a Wabtec Senior Project Manager, you can make a difference in our customer’s experience in working. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading all phases of the project life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout). Your primary objective will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value-creation strategies and actions. The Project Manager is responsible for overall project/program execution as you lead a cross-functional team to exceed our customer’s expectations and present recurring project/program updates to internal and customer executives while being aligned to common program performance goals and having overall program responsibility within a matrixed organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage programs to deliver on time, within budget, meet revenue/margin targets, and meet contractual obligationsDrive performance across technical domain (development, test, field) to meet project deadlinesRequirements Liaison for customer scope of work with engineering teamsDevelop cost, revenue, and payment plans to achieve business objectivesProactively manage the project technical risks, defining the mitigation plan and validating the technical project solution across stakeholdersAdhere to customer and industry standards/specifications, while keeping within Wabtec’s quality standardsManage multisystem engineering tasks with a focus on delivering a totally integrated system within a matrixed organization utilizing various internal Wabtec and external resourcesLead efforts to identify risks, develop plans and apply countermeasures to improve our positionCommunicate issues and opportunities – Including plans to resolveManage contract, project scope, risk, and Change Orders (CO)Respond to CO by overseeing the entire bid effort – resource requirements, schedule, risk, cost, price, and negotiationRepresent the company as a senior customer program interface.Optimize customer relationships through the program life cycle. Foster long-term, customer-centric relationshipsResponsible for the development of high-quality written reports/presentations for management and customer reviewsLead resource, Wabtec management, and customer reviews – project status, risk management, schedule, budget, performance to plan, etcTravel required to/from intercompany, supplier, and customer offices.Lead by example by personally embracing and integrating continuous process improvementSupport the development and identification of program management resourcesAble and willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%. Travel includes, but is not limited to, car and airfareOther duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or relevant disciplineMinimum of 7 years of Program Management experience (5 with a master’s degree in the above disciplines)Advanced MS Office Suite and MS Project skillsDemonstrated financial management skills including development and control of program budgets, schedules, risk management, EAC's and the ability to recognize and capture program changes

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsProven analytical, technical, strategic, and problem-solving skillsExperience identifying project problems and recommending solutionsExperience in the Rail Industry and or FRA knowledgeExperience with Intermodal Rail Terminal operations and technologyExperience with Agile Project Management is a plusAbility to work independently and multitaskExperience with creating and monitoring staffing metricsPMP/IPMA certificationExperience in program stand upExperience working within an Integrated Product Team (IPT)Experience with external customers

Physical Demands:

Employee is regularly required to communicate with others for information exchangeEmployee is regularly required to assess the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work as assignedEmployee will be required to perform repetitive office-related functions that may include the wrists, hands, and fingersEmployee will be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time

Work Environment:

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment and will be seated for extended periods of time. The ability to perform basic office movements is required. Wabtec operates on a hybrid model, offering employees the flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from the office.
