As a

Project Manager , you will be responsible for project management and oversight of assigned projects for the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) department. This position will complete projects for both new and existing clients.

Job ResponsibilitiesTravel safely to various job sites in a company provided vehicle; maintain company vehicle (schedule oil changes, inside/outside upkeep and complete monthly vehicle inspection reports)Complete proof roll observations and undercutsStaff field workMentor technicians, staff professionals and junior level managersProvide on-site project management to complete field testingGenerate reports, recommendations and other documentation needed by clientsConduct site meetings, site estimates, and project recommendations for prospective and current clientsCreate, prepare and update project proposals and technical reports in a timely mannerDevelop and manage projects with new and existing clients, ensuring profitabilityReview, update and approve invoices weekly for on-going projectsMaintain excellent communication both verbally and electronically with senior management, other project managers, field staff and colleaguesDemonstrated commitment to safety, quality and integrityFollow all company safety procedures and policiesOther tasks as assignedQualificationsValid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited universityProfessional Engineer (PE) License5+ years of Geotechnical/CMT full-time work experienceKnowledge or certification in radiation safetyActive certifications in WACEL, ACI and/or ICC Special Inspections, DOT Roadway or EarthworksSkillsKnowledge of geotechnical and construction materials testing methods, ASTM standards, and soil classificationsAbility to calculate results from geotechnical/construction materials testing dataAbility to read and interpret construction documentsAbility to accurately complete field-testing paperwork and detailed figuresAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsAbility to write technical reports, proposals, business correspondences and/or procedure manuals as neededAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, detailed reports, short correspondence and memosAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general publicExcellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to use technology/computerStrong leadership skills and an eye for detailKnowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsDays and hours for this position are typically Monday-FridayRegularly exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environmentsField work on outside construction sites involving long-term standing, sitting and potentially repetitive motionsTypically, this position involves 50% office work, 50% field work, depending on the week/workAbility to use your senses to see (including close, distant and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus), smell, hear and touch (use your hands to reach, climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit)Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40lbs. (soil and/or concrete tests and related apparatus); frequently lift and/or move up to 60lbs. (soil and sand samples, and nuclear density equipment); and occasionally move more than 100lbs. (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete samples)You may be required to drive hundreds of miles per day within the Mid-Atlantic regionSome weekend, overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required
