Thank you for your interest in our Y!PART TIME PERKSFree certifications (depending on position)Free YMCA of Greater Indianapolis membershipFlexible schedulesChildcare provided when actively working (up to 20 hours per week)RetirementEmployee Assistance ProgramCenter DiscountsGENERAL FUNCTIONUnder the direction and supervision of the Program Director, Team Leader II will be responsible for assisting the Director with all aspects of the Youth & Family Programs, including but not limited to, teaching classes, supervising and evaluating activity leaders, event planning, record-keeping and accounting. The Team Leader II will interact positively with parents, children and activity leaders to develop a trusting relationship.KNOW HOWMust be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma, or its equivalent.One to two years experience in early childhood setting preferred and completion of requirements for the CDA certification and/or one-year experience in early childhood education/child development preferred.Must have knowledge of children ages 2-11 and an understanding of their needs and development.Must have experience in supervising staff and handling conflict situations with parents and staff.Requires independent action and judgment and a high level of organization, tact and maturity.Must be capable of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with staff, parents, program participants, and with the general public.Must be able to work as a team member and possess the core values that meet the YMCA mission.Ability to type and use Microsoft Office and Unity, or have basic knowledge and the ability to learn these programs and use accordingly.Ability to obtain Heartsaver CPR and First Aid certifications, Child Abuse Prevention training, Safety and Risk Management, New Employee Orientation and other training required for YMCA Youth & Family employees within 60-90 days of employment.Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children, family and YMCA staff.
