Our goal is to remain at the forefront of assessment and measurement efficacy within the education and ed tech space as it continues to grow and evolve.Position Summary:The General Manager of Data and Analytics is a senior leader to enable value creation by means of the organization's data assets and alignment with the external data ecosystem. This role works cross-functionally with all business disciplines to create and execute a cohesive value strategy with outcomes that benefit the learner as well as ETS commercial outcomes. With significant datasets in user demographics, customer acquisition, user behavior, and product transactional statistics, the General Manager of Data and Analytics will drive insights aligned to customer personas and behaviors across all ETS. These insights, along with managed data sets, will be made available through a Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) model for internal processing as well as external monetization. In addition, this position will have responsibility for aligning data policy and administration with relevant regulatory, legal, and ethical mandates in connection with the office of Global Compliance.Responsibilities:Data Product Management & Leadership:Take authority and accountability for exploiting the value of enterprise information assets, and of the analytics used to render insights for decision making, automated decisions, and augmentation of human performance. Be the corporate leader of data-driven insights that help support the exploitation of strategic and tactical business opportunities.Work with senior executives to establish the vision and operating model for managing data as a business asset through a quarterly road mapping, exploit data using research and analytics to maximize the return on data assets. Develop methods to ensure consistent application and use of analytics. Establish the governance of data and algorithms used for analysis, analytical applications, and automated decision making.Foster the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies, and data literacy across the enterprise.Identify new kinds, types, and sources of data to enable business innovation throughout the organization. Create and oversee a centralized service for sourcing external data to ensure quality, traceability, timeliness, usability, and cost-effectiveness.Expand the organization's research and analytics offerings, especially in emerging analytical approaches, skills, and technologies, focusing them on digital business innovation.Compliance & Trust:Lead regulatory and compliance programs related to data and analytics assets in conjunction with the office of Global Compliance.Ensure that the data used for financial reporting and to support legal requirements is valid, reliable, traceable, timely, available, secure, and consistent.Develop and maintain controls on data quality, interoperability, and sources to effectively manage the corporate risk associated with the use of data and analytics.Collaborate with the chief security officer and chief compliance officer to create policies and controls for the appropriate protection of information assets.Protection should encompass a defined information life cycle, from acquisition or creation to end of life destruction and disposal procedures.Governance & Operations:Organize and chair a data and analytics governance council that meets at least quarterly. Participants typically include the CxO level staff, head of enterprise architecture, and of key business units.Define, manage, and advance enterprise information management principles, policies, and programs for stewardship, advocacy, and custodianship of data and analytics, in concert with legal, information security, and corporate risk and compliance offices.Evolve and institutionalize behaviors for the appropriate use of information taking into consideration changing security requirements, privacy needs, ethical values, societal expectations, and cultural norms (in collaboration with the data protection officer and legal counsel).Define, manage, and ensure an adequate information trust model, controls for master data and metadata management, including reference data.Measure master data and reference data for compliance to policy, standards, and conceptual models. Assure the deployment and management of data quality monitoring practices.Direct supervision of 5+ direct reports over a team of 30+ in the US and India. This senior role leads across all functions within ETS and will direct the work of other employees outside his/her direct purview.Recruit and hire talent to address new needs and skill gaps.Build a culture that supports learning, collaboration, transparency, and inclusiveness.Manage employee engagement and promote a compelling employee value proposition to retain data analytics staff.The role also supervises progress on commitments and KPIs across data owners accountability in a matrix organization is critical and requires significant management time to keep an integrated team aligned and committed - this is another change management activity.Strong talent management skills including talent development, coaching, mentoring, and team motivation.Successful implementation of a DaaS model at a medium to large enterprise with a global customer base.Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships at all levels of the organization through strong business acumen and delivery of shared objectives.Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.Strong organizational skills, including an ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.Deep understanding of software development methodologies, best practices, relevant tools and platforms (e.g., cloud platforms, web technologies, client-server technologies, continuous integration and deployment), with an eagerness to learn about new and unfamiliar technologies.Adaptability and ability to manage rapid change in business needs, processes, or technologies.Excellent communications skills and executive presence: able to sell their ideas and be persuasive and persistent.Strong Emotional intelligence and the ability to read the room at all levels in the organization.Relationship management critical for peers, executives, and supporting roles.Detailed reporting and tracking - into the details behind metrics, KPIs.Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:A bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, computer science, data science, information science, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Academic qualification or professional training and experience in legal and regulatory areas are also desirable.Relevant Years of Experience Required:Ten or more years of business experience, ideally in data and analytics management, financial or information or IT management at senior levels of an organization. Broad business experience is required marketing, product, technology, finance, operations.Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.Experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes and information strategies, and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards.Strategy and management consulting experience desirable.Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines at a senior level to influence and effect change to achieve common goals.Proven data literacy The ability to describe business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts, and analytical approaches/options. The ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business, IT, and stakeholders.Analytical Skills:

Outstanding Analytical And Problem-solving Abilities.Gravitas to develop a framework for information and analytics governance, as well as to sell and embed it in all levels of the business.Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to technologists. The candidate should be able to sell ideas and processes internally at all levels, including the board and investors.Proven record of effective leadership, including the ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, build teams and consensus, get things done through others not directly under his/her supervision, and work ethically & with integrity.Other Requirements (Specialized skill sets, behavioral/technical):Demonstrated knowledge of Education Industry business processes and resultant information needs, including risk and regulatory factors relating to information flows.Broad experience desired, but not essential, in multiple competency areas of data and analytics delivery.
