Job Summary:
As the Assistant Director at The Goddard School, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the center, supporting our team of educators, and ensuring that our children receive the highest quality care and education. You will work closely with the Center Director to implement programs, maintain regulatory compliance, and foster a positive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Assist the Center Director in managing day-to-day operations, including staffing, scheduling, and program implementation.
Team Leadership:
Support and mentor teaching staff, conduct performance evaluations, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
Curriculum Oversight:
Ensure that curriculum and educational programs are effectively implemented and aligned with developmental standards.
Family Engagement:
Build and maintain positive relationships with families, address concerns, and provide updates on their children’s progress.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that the center adheres to all licensing requirements and Step Up to Quality requirements.
Administrative Duties:
Assist with record-keeping and maintaining accurate documentation.
Qualifications:
Education:
CDA, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a childcare setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with early childhood education best practices, child development theories, and regulatory requirements.
