Mountain Road, Joppa, MD 21085Responsibilities and DutiesPOSITION SUMMARYAs a purchasing manager the responsibilities include leading the purchasing department and ensuring the company has the supplies, equipment, products, services, and materials it needs. Develop and implement strategies to optimize costs, maintain quality standards, and mitigate supply chain risks. As a purchasing manager you will also work with vendors to negotiate contracts and establish mutually beneficial relationships. It is critical that the purchasing manager manages/leads the purchasing workflow, ensures clear requirements, forecast market trends, mitigate risks, and collaborate with stakeholders. Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills are requiredPURCHASING AND INVENTORYAdhere to all Modular Genius, Inc. Safety Policies, OSHA, customer and/or site-specific safety requirements.Abide by all Modular Genius, Inc. policies as found in the “Modular Genius, Inc. Employee Handbook.”Develop a purchasing program - i.e., Vendor List with materials and prices, evaluate order quantities and price breaks, purchase request procedures, forms, and controls.Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategiesTrack and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectivenessWorking with Business Development and the Construction Departments, craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.Source equipment, goods, and services, as well as managing vendors.Perform strategic procurement activities across various spend categories, aiming to find better deals and more profitable suppliers.Expertise in supplier relationship management and negotiation skills will be crucial in ensuring cost-effective and high-quality procurement.Additionally, analyze market trends, forecast demand, and mitigate risks to optimize the procurement process.Leverage knowledge of supply chain management and identify opportunities for improvement, contribute to the overall success of Modular Genius purchasing operations.Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategiesTrack and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectivenessPartner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentationForecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier powerPerform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarkingAssess, manage and mitigate risksSeek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliersDetermine quantity and timing of deliveriesMonitor and forecast upcoming levels of demandQualifications and SkillsProven working experience as Purchasing ManagerFamiliarity with sourcing and vendor managementInterest in market dynamics along with business senseA knack for negotiation and networkingWorking experience of vendor management software (Procore and Sage)Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figuresSolid judgement along with decision making skillsStrong leadership capabilitiesBS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administrationDetail OrientedSelf-motivator able to work independentlyProficient use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)Must be a US Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States
