The Extra Help Autism Coaching Specialist will deliver professional learning, workshops, and consultation to educators and staff serving students with autism in Southern Illinois schools. These services will include workshops, the creation of resources and visual supports, and side-by-side coaching of classroom staff.The primary duty of this position is to provide in-person technical assistance to identified school teams to increase capacity and improve services for students with ASD within the school setting. This candidate will coach staff in the implementation of evidence-based practices for individuals with ASD using a gradual-release model.Salary Rate / Pay Rate

$40.00-$60.00 per hour, based upon skills and experienceRequired Qualifications

Master’s degree in special education, psychology, behavior analysis, or a closely related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience teaching students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)Valid driver’s license and ability to travel (mostly day and some overnight)Extensive knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and advanced level training in ASD and evidence-based practices for learners with ASDExperience with:a. a variety of assessment tools, including but not limited to VB-MAPP, EFL, Vineland, PEAK, ABLLS, AFLSb. providing professional learning and coaching to school teams targeting behavior and academics for learners with ASDDemonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience for learners with ASD and their familiesExcellent interpersonal, presentation, teamwork, written and oral communication, observation, consultation, and data collection skillsPreferred Qualifications

BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) certification, and if active, in good standing with the BACB (Behavior Analyst Certification Board).Prior experience:a. in teaching or administration in public school systems.b. providing systematic instruction to students with ASD.c. delivering professional learning and coaching within a school setting.Work Hours
