JOB SUMMARYThe incumbent will act as a Supervisor of Supply Chain Operations for their assigned facility within UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper. The incumbent will act as a liaison to all hospital departments and units. The goal of the role is to provide excellent service to the units, with patient safety central to their mission. This will be accomplished by leading all daily activities related to par level stocking, distribution and logistics, data entry and analysis, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures of UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper and specified regulatory bodies, code cart replenishment, and receiving and off-site deliveries. The supervisor of Supply Chain Operations will also be responsible for market level monitoring on costs, policy adherence, team member education, and key performance indicator (KPI) analysis, investigation and reporting to market and facility leadership.Communications:

Interacts with external and internal customers in a positive and diplomatic manner.Possesses good verbal and written communication skills.Provides excellent customer service relating to supply chain functions and any special customer inquiries.Teamwork:

Acts as a liaison to all departments which require the services of Supply Chain Operations.Acts as a department liaison for customer service, providing assistance with resolving customer inquiries and troubleshooting product requisitions, purchase orders, and billing, as appropriate.Conducts product research and sourcing.Handles vendor backorders, product returns and recalls, and communicates product information and changes.Compliance:

Ensures compliance to all department, hospital, Corporate, and Joint Commission policies/recommendations.Ensures compliance in market facilities through education and guidance from Supply Chain leaders.Maintains competency according to departmental policies, procedures, protocols, and mandatory education requirements.Administrative Support:

Ensures accurate management of product inventory for the facility.Counts and replenishes inventory using available technology.Assists with inventory management by stocking shelves, rotating stock, cycle counts, and physical inventory.Cleans, prepares, and replenishes specialty carts, kits, and equipment, if applicable.Receives all incoming freight from UPS, FedEx, and other common carriers.Prepares and ships outgoing freight.Uses computer systems, including handhelds, within Supply Chain Operations.The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation:

High School Diploma required. Some college education preferred.Experience:

3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in Supply Chain. Experience in hospital materials management preferred. Will consider equivalent experience in other fields. Experience with inventory control and par level stocking preferred.Licensure:

Must produce acceptable DMV driving record, as incumbent may travel to an associated UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper facility.Additional Skills/Requirements Required : Ability to successfully complete department specific competency assessment. Thorough knowledge of supply chain techniques and management/distribution systems is essential. Must be knowledgeable of current regulatory/governing standards, policies, and procedures. Must be knowledgeable in application of safety and infection control policies and procedures. Computer/information systems skills required including MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel). Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead, direct and instruct others in a professional manner. Ability to organize, prioritize and adapt to changing situations. Possess good numerical and clerical abilities. Good manual dexterity. Good critical thinking skills and decision-making skills. A supportive and cooperative attitude is essential and a willingness to provide a team environment.Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred : Current understanding of par level control measures is highly recommended. Knowledge of medical surgical products or medical terminology preferred. Computer/information system skills preferred including PeopleSoft, and timekeeping software systems.
