JOB SUMMARY
Supports business objectives in the role Vegetation Maintenance Specialist for all ITC Holdings operating companies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Recommends strategic direction of the vegetation management (VM) program at ITC Holdings to ensure its success in meeting ITC's overall business needs.
Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for the company's Transmission Vegetation Management Program (TVMP)
Monitors and reports on progress of external resources executing the TVMP
Makes recommendations to troubleshoot problems on VM related issues.
Assists with community issues related to VM including easement resolution, customer interaction, working with external entities, etc.
Serves as Company's internal representative in legal proceedings related to VM.
Serves as the ITC Holdings technical representative on regulatory matters related to VM, including NERC compliance.
Assists Supply Chain in developing and maintain relationships with external contractors.
Collaborates with other engineers and internal departments which may include consulting, managing projects, organizing resources, or maintenance.
Represents ITC Holdings in industry forums, professional organizations, etc. as requested.
Generates internal and external reports on various facets of transmission system vegetation management.
Attends meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skills.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Arboriculture, Forestry, or other environmentally related field or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible transmission and/or distribution VM experience including one (1) in a program management capacity.
Utility experience preferred.
Possess sound analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the Company.
Ability to work under minimal supervision, in a team environment.
Ability to multi-task.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
Ability to learn and utilize job specific software.
Ability to travel to support geographically diverse business operations
