An Assistant Project Manager (APM) uses communication and project management skills to coordinate a project. The primary function of an APM is to assist the Project Manager and Superintendents. An APM has a general understanding of commercial construction and is familiar with most facets that go into managing a basic project. Your time will be dedicated to learning the business side of construction and gaining a full understanding of the cost report. As a Lusardi APM, you will manage your own projects with close supervision and oversight in order to help learn and gain experience.Responsibilities:

Coordinate with vendors, employees and clients to organize project expectationsMonitor and report on project budget and spendingAbility to write comprehensive subcontractsComplete a thorough cost leveling for any tradePrepare a comprehensive estimateSupport Preconstruction with the bid processProcess and review RFI's and SubmittalsAnalyze and prepare change ordersNegotiate subcontracts and change ordersAbility to create a basic project schedule and conduct project meetingsAbility to read and comprehend plans, specs, and soils reportsEvaluate and identify challenges and utilize resources to solve problemsSupport requests from Superintendent, Project Managers and Senior Project ManagersEducation and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or other related discipline preferred2-5 years of experience in the construction industry in a Project Management roleCan be a combination of training, education and relevant work experienceRequired Skills/Abilities:

Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and proceduresAbility to perform duties in a professional manner and appearanceProficient in using a computer and Microsoft OfficeAbility to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and changing priorities as necessaryAbility to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirement with a professional demeanorEffective oral and written communication skills as required for the positionHighly self-motivated, proactive and an effective team playerAbility to interact effectively and professional with all levels in house as well as with owners, clients, and vendorsThe pay range for this position of employment is expected to be between $93,600 and $114,400/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:Lusardi Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
