Position SummaryThe

Senior Manager, Operational Support

is a highly visible leadership role.The focus is around new and existing business operated at DSV but could include business stabilization, new business, and support.This group will work closely with engineering and operations teams to validate details of the business (space, capital requirements, transition cost, IT solution and cost, staffing requirements, etc.) as part of root cause identification related to less than optimum performance demonstrated. The group will also work with the operation teams to understand skill requirements for different levels of leadership to identify and provide training required to enhance skills of the frontline team to successfully run the operation at the highest levels.He/she will also ensure that the operation adheres to the overall corporate mission, vision, and core values while consistently meeting client and company expectations.As part of the DSV team, associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMonitor performance and identify possible opportunities for improvement.Provide communication and guidance to management team.Provide stabilization resources to support sites performing below standard.Determine and enlist other resources where needed including engineering, IT, Operations, HR and Quality.Travel to sites and provide operational coverage support on an as needed basis.Responsible for developing the team in areas of leadership, skill sets, team unity, and communication.Provide oversight and make decisions related to all aspects of site stabilization including layout design, storage media, slotting, capital improvement purchases, MHE and skills assessment of local team.Lead the effort to train new associates on systems and applications.Coordinate the preparation of the required training material for new internal applications.Communicate effectively with team members, operations partners and potentially vendors.Effectively utilize data when analyzing issues and problem solving.Provide bi-weekly updates on projects including early awareness of possible problems.DSV is growing rapidly and continuously evaluating and entering new market segments. brings an entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to excellence, and experience supporting large programs related to New Business.Activities are but not limited to the below.Pre AQP and AQP (advanced Quality Planning) Meetings.Process reviews.UAT.Provide oversight and make decisions related to all aspects of new business including layout design, storage media, slotting, capital improvement purchases, MHE and skills assessment of local team.Launch or RECAP.OTHER DUTIESBackup to Director, Ops Support, as needed.Conduct performance reviews of direct reports and manage Workday requirements daily.Support develop yearly budgets for department.Strong attention to detail accuracy and accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.Good organizational and personnel skills.Good communication skills, written and oral.Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills.Must be able to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.The ability to develop effective relationships, provide leadership, and integrate diverse organizations and individuals toward unifying objectives.Motivates self and others to accomplish important objectives despite a complex environment and multiple demands, creates a sense of urgency, delegates appropriately.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSKILLS & ABILITIESEducation and/or Experience:Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).Bachelor’s degree is preferred.5 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.5 years’ experience in a leadership role in logistics/distribution/supply chain environment.Computer SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).Demonstrated proficiency in knowledge of applicable WMS systems.Language SkillsProficiency in business communication at all levels.Core CompetenciesLeader of OthersOther Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.
