OverviewThe Senior District Sales Manager is responsible for growing and maintaining sales of Speed Queen Residential laundry products within the assigned territory. Key aspects of this position include the execution and implementation of results-oriented sales strategies, cultivation of a premium experience for consumers at the store level, creation and maintenance of high-quality business relationships with independent retail dealers and provide pre and post-sales support in a variety of different areas.
Candidates for this role will be based in Northeast / Mid-Atlantic area, ideally situated in Pennsylvania or Southern New Jersey.
Responsibilities
Achieve sales and margin targets established by the Regional Sales Manager – NECO (RSM – NECO) for the assigned sales territory
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with retail laundry accounts throughout assigned territory. Assist accounts in several key disciplines, including but not limited to product features and benefits, store marketing, revenue enhancement opportunities, and general technical support
Implement company directed sales programs, promotions, and strategies to achieve volume and profit plans while expanding market penetration
Conduct on-location sales training on Speed Queen Residential laundry products and marketing strategies for retail owners and salespeople
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of all current and potential customers within assigned territory
Stay abreast of competitive activity in the assigned sales territory from the standpoint of products, promotional materials, sales techniques, pricing, warranty and marketing practices. Update Residential Sales leadership, as needed
Identify opportunities and propose solutions to Residential Sales leadership and/or Business Intelligence Manager for sales efficiencies in support of strengthening sales
Provide guidance and support to peers; Serve as backup for RSM - NECO, as needed
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered
5-7 years of related experience; prior appliance industry experience is preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Leader amongst peers; comfortable providing professional, constructive feedback to peers and/senior leadership
Self-starter, demonstrating proactivity, self-initiative, and tenacity
Customer-centric; Ability to develop and maintain outstanding customer/retailer relationships
Intellectually curious; Leverage data to make decisions aligned with business strategy; Able to root cause, identify opportunities, and propose solutions
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; Communicate effectively and professionally across all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
Strong organizational skills; Ability to self-manage workload and multiple projects simultaneously while managing and meeting tight deadlines
Solid business acumen; Ability to understand how different functions/departments interact with and impact one another; Ability to translate strategy into specific, executable action plans
Systems-proficient, particularly in MS Office; Prior experience with Salesforce is a plus
Travel:
Ability to travel 50-75% of the time within assigned market
Standard and Physical Requirements:
Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record
