Director of Risk Management

to add to the team in Orange County. This role would be the principal person responsible for the insurance procurement and claims management within the Property Operations Division and will serve as the primary resource for the management of standards and policies related to risk management for Property Operations.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the procurement of insurance policies, ensuring coverage aligns with organizational needs.

Manage renewals, subrogation, and claims handling for various lines of insurance, including but not limited to Property, General Liability, and Ancillary lines.

Manage the performance of wholly owned captive insurance company.

Serve as primary contact with outside legal support for litigated claims and legal guidance as needed.

Troubleshoot and collaborate with other managers to problem solve and advance the processes of the business unit and the division as a whole.

Manage established Property Operations programs for resident relations, water intrusion/environmental risks, pest control along with any risk prevention/response programs.

Oversee and ensure continued compliance with evictions, collections, renters insurance and all multifamily regulations for Property Operations

Oversee and implement updates to residential lease, addenda and legal notices along with settlement agreements.

Establish risk management annual budget.

Conduct training as needed for property team members to ensure policy compliance.

Manage Risk Management team members and cultivate as a high performing team that exemplifies company culture.

Ensure timely communication of high risk and potential liability exposures to appliable executives on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from a four year college/university in business or related field.

10 years of experience in risk management and insurance with knowledge of insurance underwriting, policy procurement and claims handling.

Experience managing a team and managed through a period of significant organizational change.

Excellent organizational and communication skills, verbal and written.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Excel.

Required to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.

Time management and Multi-tasking expertise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
