Marketing and Communications Manager
Who We Are: Founded in 1907, the
National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG)
serves as the national forum for attorneys general and their staff to collaboratively address issues important to their work and provides resources to support the work of the offices of attorneys general in protecting the Rule of Law and the United States Constitution. NAAG fosters an environment of “cooperative leadership,” helping attorneys general respond effectively – individually and collectively – to emerging state and federal issues. NAAG emphasizes a commitment to professional excellence and the quality of life for our employees. We are looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to join our team. The Job Brief: This role will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications and will be instrumental in executing NAAG’s marketing and communication strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing and communications, excellent project management skills, and a keen eye for detail. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and visibility of NAAG’s brand. While the position is based at our headquarters in Washington, D.C., there is some flexibility for remote work. A Typical Day:
Marketing Execute digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email marketing. Monitor and analyze digital marketing performance metrics, providing reports containing insights and recommendations for improvement. Plan and implement social media strategies to increase followers and engagement. Conduct market research to identify industry trends, opportunities, and challenges. Utilize insights from market research to refine and optimize marketing strategies. Develop and implement strategies to expand NAAG’s paid audience base. Coordinate with external vendors, including designers, printers, and marketing agencies. Communication Maintain and update content calendars to ensure timely delivery of communications. Create, manage, and catalog high-quality content for various platforms, including web, social media, email, and print. Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all communication channels. Assist in the development and maintenance of brand guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various initiatives and campaigns. Oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and goals are achieved. Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects and initiatives supporting NAAG’s mission. Public Relations Manage NAAG’s social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement. Assist in planning and promoting NAAG events, including conferences, webinars, and workshops. Coordinate marketing materials and communications for events. Draft press releases, articles, and other PR/marketing materials as needed. Assist in managing media relations and building relationships with key journalists. Assist in managing member relations by serving as liaison to PIO staff. General Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects and initiatives supporting NAAG’s mission. Is This You?
Education Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing and communications.
Skills:
Technical Skills Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, SEO tools, social media management tools). Proficiency in content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and email marketing platforms. Solid familiarity with HTML, CSS, scripting. Proficiency with Adobe Creative products (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), including experience with color correction, manipulation of images, creating and editing vector graphics, and designing and formatting multi-page documents. Proficiency with Office365 products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), including utilizing advanced features and functionalities. Strong understanding of social media platforms and strategies. Experience with HootSuite. Soft Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in technical, business, marketing and copy writing abilities. Strong organizational and project management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Creative mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Location:
NAAG is headquartered in Washington, D.C. Terrific Total Compensation Package: Salary range starts at $75,000 - $80,000 and is commensurate with experience and budget availability.
