These include waste-to-energy facilities, transfer stations, ash monofills, landfills, and fleets of rail cars and collection vehicles. We process more than 11 million tons of waste annually, converting 6.7 million tons of waste into clean, renewable energy that powers 340,000 homes. We recycle more than 234,000 tons of plastic, paper, and metals from the waste stream.

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple strategic and tactical projects under the guidance of the IT Manager of Business Engagement. This position requires the ability to lead and manage multiple IT projects of varying complexity and duration. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing progressively complex IT projects and must be highly organized. This role is accountable for on-time project delivery through the creation of detailed project schedules, mitigation of risks, and resolution of issues of medium to high complexity. Must have the ability to work well under pressure and succeed in a fast-paced environment. Experience with multiple project management methodologies like, scrum, kanban, and waterfall is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and manage projects ranging in size and technical complexity from small to large, including enterprise wide projectsManages assigned project(s) by overseeing the phases of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closingCreate a competitive advantage through IT by enabling process improvements focused on the team's speed, efficiency, quality, and agilityLead project teams through the requirements analysis, design, development, and deployment in terms of scope, complexity, schedule and resourcesLead project teams in planning and estimating milestones, scheduling and assisting in defining required resourcesPro-actively manage project Risks, Assumptions, Issues and DependenciesWork to control change, adjust the timeline, and project scope to accommodate approved changesAnalyze current PM methodologies and implement changes to increase speed and quality of deliveryBe an agent of change and a source of positive influenceEnsure consistency, quality, accountability and high standards in all projectsProvide work flow direction, technical guidance, project assignments, training, and performance input of staff in both the technical and professional aspects of their performanceProduce status and milestone reports including critical path analysisMatrix management of work stream leadersTrack inter-dependencies of work streamsLeverage expertise to develop and present options and recommendations for implementation strategies/action plans across multiple projectsDirect the activities of cross-functional Program Teams through facilitation and coordination of meetings and distribution of informationSchedule cost development including varianceDevelop, monitor and actively manage a task-level Microsoft Project Enterprise Schedule/Plan, including the gathering of time estimates and cost estimates as input to the Schedule and the Budget and Resource PlanAssist IT Manager in negotiating complex technical and business issuesEnsure that internal company project methodology standards are consistently adhered toEnsures solutions are transitioned appropriately to the support team through company-defined processesQualifications:

Develop progressive and integrated baseline project plans, adapting estimating models if requiredAggressively pursue multiple priorities, issues, and constraints, and where conflict arises, mediate and work with project teams to resolve, and escalate when warranted to seek supportAnticipate operational and tactical risks, and effectively track and manage these throughout project lifecycleEmploy appropriate governance, compliance, and risk oversight on all projects under managementEnsure that quality is embedded in all project processes, activities, and deliverables from start to finishBe able to pull teams of resource contributors together to plan out in more detail what is needed to accomplish the business objectivesMust be able to create detailed project plans to ensure successful project completionMust create and maintain on-going documentation related to scope, business requirements, status and all other essential project documentationMust be able to influence and persuade individuals and/or groups to common ground solutionsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to successfully manage multiple projects concurrentlyExcellent planning and time management skillsExcellent leadership abilitiesEducation and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management or related discipline requiredMinimum of 10 years of general IT project management experienceMust have experience managing Agile (Scrum and Kanban), Waterfall and hybrid projectsExpert level knowledge with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, JIRA and Teams is requiredExperience managing teams, including remote team membersMust have at least one of the following certifications: PMP, MPM, CSM,CSPM, AgilePM
