We are currently seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator for an immediate opportunity at our Jacksonville location. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience inlays out, fitting, and welds fabricated, cast, and forging components to assemble structural forms.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Select equipment and plan layout, assemble, and weld. Layout, position, align and fit components together. Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding. Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment. Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining constant awareness of job-related hazards and effectively communicating instruction to others. Maintain weld leads, MIG guns, plasma cutters in proper working order. Weld-on outlets, flanges and assemble supports based on stock listings and miscellaneous fabrication sheets. Provide quality assurance by visually inspecting all welds. Redirect focus as needed to accommodate any emergency fabrication needed by Project Managers without compromising safety. Actively participate in daily safety meetings and attend additional training sessions as required. Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining constant awareness of job-related hazards and communication with others. Stock pipe and inspect for visible defects. Layout and cut pipe based on stock listings and miscellaneous fabrication sheets. Ensure proper placement of outlets and fittings based on stock listings. Grind off outlet openings to prepare for welders. Bundle both welded and threaded lines per stock listings. Actively participate in daily safety meetings and attend additional training sessions required.Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
