We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Staff, Systems and Infrastructure Engineer to join our Global Technology Services and Solutions team at Walmart. In this role, you will partner in the design, development, and maintenance of conference room technology and software systems that provide real-time data and analytics for optimizing enterprise device management and telemetry. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, data scientists, and UI/UX engineers to create robust, scalable, and user-friendly telemetry products. What you'll do:
The Senior Systems and Infrastructure Engineer will work on developing conference room technologies and solutions for Walmart. This includes designing and implementing systems for audio/video equipment, room scheduling, collaboration tools, End point Telemetry and other conference room technologies.
System Design and Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to drive system design processes and solution development. This includes working with manufactures and hardware teams to integrate audio/video equipment, networking teams to ensure connectivity, and software teams to develop customized solutions. The engineer will also collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of telemetry solutions within the Walmart infrastructure.
Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks for conference room technologies. This includes managing software updates, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring optimal performance of conference room systems.
Software Engineering Experience: Software engineering experience to develop and integrate software solutions for conference room technologies. This includes developing automation tools and scripts for efficient room scheduling, managing audio/video equipment, and integrating collaboration tools.
Middleware Integration: Evaluate opportunities for creating connections among various hardware and applications within Walmart. Evaluate suitable middleware for integrating legacy applications with current applications, program middleware or other tools for effective integration, and oversee the end-to-end process of application integration.
Data Center Operations: Support data center operations, including production operations, server and storage management, systems and infrastructure management, Assist in decommissioning on-prem hardware or migrating to cloud setups as per business needs and monitor the resiliency and reliability of the cloud environment.
Technology Solution Automation: Utilize automation tools, technologies, and scripting languages to automate processes and improve efficiency in conference room technologies. This includes analyzing data and metrics to identify areas that can benefit from automation, reducing manual tasks through automation, and maintaining accurate documentation on deployments and processes.
Integration and Testing: Responsible for integrating conference room technologies with other systems and platforms within Walmart. This includes testing the compatibility and functionality of conference room solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
Security and Compliance: Ensure that conference room technologies meet security and compliance requirements. This includes implementing security measures for audio/video equipment, collaboration tools, and data transmission within conference rooms.
Design and Documentation: Assist in creating simple, modular, extensible, and functional designs for products and solutions. Evaluate trade-offs in designing across multiple components based on business requirements and convert high-level designs into detailed designs for specific modules. Also understand disaster recovery design nuances and ensure adherence to requirements.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area and 4+ years 'experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization-related technologies or 6 years' experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization related technologies.
Required Skills:
Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with conference room technologies like Cisco Telepresence, Polycom, or similar enterprise-grade systems.Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting complex audio/video systems, such as high-end projectors, displays, audio mixers, video switchers, and advanced control systems.Proficiency with video conferencing platforms like Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.Expertise in designing and implementing conference room solutions that cater to large-scale meetings, events, and presentations.In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless technologies.Understanding of network protocols and services, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.Proficiency in network troubleshooting and performance optimization.Experience with network security principles, including firewalls, access controls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware for deploying conference room solutions.Experience working with hardware teams to integrate various technologies and devices that provide telemetry data (e.g. Audio/video equipment) would be a huge plus!Preferred Skills:
Programming skills in building cross-platform and dynamic frontend components such as NodeJS/Express ReactJS,JavaScript, SQL/MySQL/MSSQL, REST services, with a focus on software development for telemetry and monitoring systems.Experience in Cloud platforms (Azure), GCP, git, Jenkins, Kubernetes.Familiarity with messaging platforms like Kafka.Familiarity with NoSQL Databases like cosmos DB and Graph DB.
