PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Audio Visual and Event SupportSets up and operates audio and video equipment, including integrated equipment in conjunction with SCC Operations Team staff.Responsible for operation of audio, video, lighting, and multi-media for events.Coordinate and facilitate audio visual resources with external customers and media, including facilitating live-stream video, recordings, and news feeds.Works with performers and presenters across a broad range of events and activities, including musical performances, lectures, and theatrical performances; Coordinates necessary equipment and oversees audio mixes and lighting.Responsible for setup, operation, and equipment used for live band performances including weekly performances by student and community performers.Provides walk-throughs and training to customers in the use of audio, video, and multi- media computer equipment including integrated equipment.Daily Operations

Assist with the physical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the audio/video equipment and other multi-media equipment including inventory of cables and large sound equipment.Assist customers by providing on-site troubleshooting with SCC supplied and/or integrated equipment.Provides walk-throughs and training to Student Center Complex staff in the use of audio, video, and multi-media computer equipment.Works a flexible schedule with a minimum of 80 hours bi-weekly including evening, nights, and weekends.Perform other duties as assigned.Administrative Responsibilities

Position provides supervision to student assistants.Provides supervision of work for student assistants during daily operations and event support.Assists in training, delegating assignments, and in the assessment of quality of work of student assistants.Responsible for providing event support requirements to assigned student assistants.Respond to inquiries from Student Center Complex team, event organizers, and other relevant constituents via email, phone, or in-person.Attend meetings, trainings, and walk-throughs as requested and required.Be familiar with and work within policies and procedures of the Student Center ComplexAssist with projects, tasks, scheduling, and assessment of equipment.Assist Manager, Technology with projects, tasks, and audio-visual inquiries.Perform other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 1 year demonstrated live sound/music engineering experience in an event driven environment.Audio engineering experience or similar to include band setups of various types including ability to setup, mic, and run a live band performance of various sizes and instrumentation.Experience with a variety of audio, visual, and multi-media equipment required.Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends, as required.Will be required to be certified in operation and safe use of an electric scissor lift (University of Miami will provide training required).Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.Excellent customer service skills required; Experience working with a variety of customers in a customer service environment required.Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull 75 lbs.Must be able to climb/reach.Highly Desirable/Preferred

High school plus 2 years demonstrated experience; Associate's degree in related field2 years of experience in an audio-visual or computer support department in a university and/or hospitality setting including audio/visual maintenance and troubleshooting.Experience working with stage lighting, gobos, light blending, and lighting boards/consoles/software; Experience with Crestron, Extron, Dante, and/or other integrated audio/visual equipment and systems.Strong written and oral communication skills.
