Overview:

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:Our application department, in particular SITA Mission Control , will be a key pillar in SITAs contribution to a greener, more sustainable aviation through the enablement of flight and air traffic optimization.Reporting to the head of E&T Application department, the associate product owner is overall responsible for the following key activities:Collaborate with the product manager to understand the product vision, and translate it into actionable tasks for the development team.Work closely with the development team to refine user stories and acceptance criteria, ensure clear, actionable requirements that align with product vision and meet customer expectation.Track project budget, expenditure, and financial performance. Identify, assess and mitigate project risks to minimize disruption and achievability of the project.You will interact with the various functions within SITA FOR AIRCRAFT such as Engineering & Technology, Product, and other colleagues across the company, located in 20+ countries (Canada, United-States, France, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Spain...).WHAT YOU WILL DO:Translate the product vision into actionable tasks and user stories, and work closely with the development team to execute the product roadmap and deliver high-quality features on time and within budget.Build strong relationships with stakeholders from various departments to gather requirements, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with business goals and strategic objectives.Act as the primary internal point of contact for the product, ensuring alignment and communication across all stakeholders.Work closely with the development team to refine user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring clear, actionable requirements that align with the product vision and meet customer needs.Establish and enforce project management processes, methodologies, and standards to ensure effective project governance.Track project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, and allocate resources effectively to balance project demands with resource availability and constraints.Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize disruptions and achieve project objectives. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address risks, and monitor and track risks throughout the project lifecycle.Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews to inform product decisions and identify opportunities for innovation.Define and analyse key product metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence within the product team.Qualifications:EXPERIENCE:Bachelors degree in information technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Meteorology, or related field.Proven track record of success in a product ownership role, preferably in a software development environment.Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and principles, with hands-on experience leading Agile teams.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.Certification in Agile or Product Management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, Agile Certified Practitioner) is desirable.Knowledge of the aeronautical industry, weather forecasting, or related domains is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards in the aviation or meteorology sectors.Advanced degree in Business Administration, Product Management, or related field.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.NICE-TO-HAVE:Degree or experience in another relevant topic (weather, aeronautical or IT)Experience in working with DevOps teamKnowledge of industry standards and best practices for software development and product management, such as ISO 27001, ITIL, or CMMI.
