About Us

The Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic seeks a detail-oriented and experienced individual to fill the position of Bookkeeper. This role is integral to the financial health and sustainability of the clinic, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient grant management, meticulous bookkeeping practices, and effective budget management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong finance, grant management, bookkeeping, and budgeting background, along with exceptional organizational and communication skills.

About the Role

Responsibilities include:

1. Financial Reporting:Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.2. Grant Management:

Manage grants to support clinic operations and programs.Develop grant budgets, track expenses, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.Prepare grant reports and communicate effectively with grantors.Monitor grant timelines and deadlines.3. Bookkeeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing, payments, and collections.Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.Prepare and submit payroll.Budget Forecasting and Management:Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.Monitor budget performance and provide analysis of variances.Collaborate with department heads to ensure budgetary compliance and accuracy.Track expenditures and identify opportunities for improvements.Audit Preparation with a third-party vendor and external auditor.Monthly Financial Update/Report to Finance Committee and Executive Board.About You

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred) or equivalent experience.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly desirable.Proven track record of experience in finance, grant management, bookkeeping, and budgeting, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit organization.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, grant regulations, budget management, and audit preparation.Ethical and trustworthy with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
